Nice work indeed! Wish I had the soldering skills to do something that nice.

Marshall, you have a nice dac/amp combo there. I'd get panels made up and stack that tandem on my desk if it were mine! Sweet DIY stack. Hope you guys have a "close cleaning" soon. I know I'd take your leftovers!

This is the Objective-Interim Amp Mk2Mod2. As you can see it'll drive a K1000 with little effort, though ideally I should be using the 6BL7 tubes on the output and setting the bias & voltage to match. Which can be done with some switches which you can't see in the picture.

Schematics & notes on this page for the Mark2Mod0 version. Tyll said it sounded good, and as the not so impartial designer & builder, I have to agree.

WHat do you do when the nice folks at Mouser send you the wrong case?

Put a Dynalo in it of course.

I am thinking I should have threw that case in the trash because it was the single worst Hammond I have ever seen.

A little tin work lowered the noise floor and one of tangent's modified linkwitz crossfeed boards solved the switch that does nothing problem on the Dantanalo.

dsavitsk's "holy grail"

Initial listening test suggest this is a very good performer for such a small package.

Very nice Marshall. I have been wanting to get around to making my own boards, but school has been killing me.

Kudos!

Ok then, for those of us uninitiated into these things, what exactly is it?

Well, it looks modified, but it seems as if Mister X has made his own PINT boards.

I dunno that I would really call it a PINT anymore but then again I dunno what else to call it.

Actually Express PCB did that part, all I did was click the mouse a few hundred times.

Greetings! I'm new around these parts, but have been into building headphone amps for at least a few years now, and thought I'd share some of my recent work.

You can see a couple more images as well as a writeup of each amp on my webpages, http://members.shaw.ca/Orcinus2/AV/PHA and http://members.shaw.ca/Orcinus2/AV/HA-1

With the recent sale of my Headroom Millett I found myself needing a new office amp. While trying to come up with ideas I happened to look around my work bench (good lord what a mess!) and I realized I pretty much already had everything I needed. So I set out this weekend to case it up and have it ready for my return on Tuesday. The result is a pretty neat little PIMETA with a few tricks up it's sleeve. Namely, switchable inputs (internal Alien DAC and 1/8" input), TREAD power supply, and 1/4 or 1/8" output. Here are the pics:

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and can't wait to put it into service. Well, actually I can since that means I'll be back at work but it'll go a long way towards making work more bearable. And special thanks go out to MisterX without whom the Alien DAC would still be non-functional.

Well, I finally managed to wrap up my β22 tonight.

It's the 3-channel active ground configuration running a +/- 30V σ22 power supply. The chassis is a custom-painted Par Metals 20 series case with switched inputs in the back and FPE badge in the front.

Impressions thus far are that it shreds the Senn veil.
