anyone know where I can get these:

http://www.neutrik.com/us/en/datacon...FD_detail.aspx

I'm going to try and get some samples from Neutrik, but these would come in quite handy....

Any problem with just using standard nuts? A back plate seems like overkill to me.

depending on the location of the jacks, nuts can be a major PITA. I cannot believe you've ever experienced this... perhaps its just me...

Major PITA no, minor pain yes. I guess not so much that I'd go to those lengths yet, of course the last chassis that I worked with was pretty darn oversized. Let us know how it goes with the samples, any time I've inquired about hard to get parts they've said that if their distributors don't have stock, neither do they.

If the connectors are stacked one on top of the other and are near the corner of the enclosure, it gets pretty hard to deal with. Doesn't help that my face plate is only 1.5" tall or so... I can remove the plate, attach them, and the reattach the plate if I need to.. just looked like a cool item.

Also, I'm pissed as I cannot get any of the new silver female XLRs with the fancy "cage" contacts, as everyone seems to be out of stock for a month or so. I used these on swt61s gear and I really like them, probably better than the low-end Furutechs I just got.

Part number at Mouser is 568-NC3FD-LX-BAG.

I don't think it is. The DLX has a few cool features over the DL series.

Hey I didn't realize those had the cage with built in nuts, very cool.

Now if you could only find more.

"Neutrik part MFD is a new product that was just released for production; that is why distribution has no inventory. You can always place an order with our distributors to fulfill your needs.

We have entered sample order 320013118 for 5 pieces. Item will not be in stock until July. When available it will ship by UPS Ground to your attention. Our sales rep for your region, Pro-Comp Sales, will contact you shortly to offer further assistance. Thank you for choosing Neutrik products."

also, does anyone else around here get off-the-wall-weird responses from Michael Percy? I got this one today:

"thank you - we are shipping your order today to your post office box in Nigeria along with all our credit card information, and expect the promised $25,000,000 inheritance from your late uncle any day now ;-) "
