Well, I just did a quick (couple of hours) BOM and hit about $2100 with cheap tubes, and a wag at casing... as much as I loved the HA-2, will I really love the Menace at 3x?

Maybe, who knows? Gotta at least listen to the Bijou first...

I think that if you were really serious about the balanced Menace that you'd want to talk to Pete about different options for the power supply. He and I discussed several alternates even for the single ended version and I think there's be a better way of doing it given the amount of iron there would be if you simply doubled everything I did.

yes! I'll experiment on the others with taking some solder wick and smoothing out the top surface, or even getting some of that mil-spec red nail polish that Ray uses and putting it over the solder joints. If I had to do it again, I'd make the holes around the pins even smaller so the pins had to be forced into the holes. I'm still worried about soldering the pins after the adapter has been assembled. I would definitely use a clip-on heat sink before soldering.

Sticking them in my KGSS now. I suppose there aren't too many people out there that have compared the Linear to Toshiba with no other circuit changes. Don't have to worry about the above, as I socketed these locations

Dude, you don't want the polish to color the sound so you've got to use clear. DUH! The only other acceptable color sonically is black.

That does look interesting. I was thinking about a Sooloos clone with a touchscreen and a small Intel Atom based machine but this just made my shortlist.

Is it listed on their US site? If so, I'll shoot them an email and see what they say.

I LOVE THAT! It would be awesome to have a dedicated FLAC player in my main system. Anyone want to build me one?

I think the first thing to find out about the unit is if it works in Engrish.
