A friend of mine made a simple MOSFET/ECC88 hybrid amp for me. Sounds really nice. He used old Russian MOSFETs (KP902), I just love how these things sound. The amp is pure class A and point to point.

Here is a link to more pics and a simplified schematic: Shark MOSFET Amp

Tell me what you think.

oh man I wish. There are board files and FPE files included as well on the website. I just don't have time. Perhaps once I build up my list of rich benefactors

Had a productive day in the DIY Lab. Only pics that I got taken are of the buffalo, ivy and power supply modules. Twisted Pear makes this stuff really easy, I'd say the longest I spent on anything was the first PS module which might have taken 45min to populate.

Just coax for starters. I really have no idea why I bought it other than curiosity so I don't want to go dropping more cash on input modules. I'm hoping to hear early next week that my chassis shipped so I can start planning the panels.

Anyone have some good knob recommendations? I'm getting ready to stick a PPAv2 on the market and I'm guessing good knobs help things sell... here are a few pictures:

Don't have any recommendations but crap, I wish I had money to buy that. Always wanted a PPAv2 to try out at home

Well, there are the ebay sellers:

eBay Store - PARTSPIPE: SWITCHES, Electronic accessories, LED's Downlight Bulbs Bezels

eBay Store - AudioTek Shop: Capacitors, Vacuum Tubes, Transistors

I've used Partspipe and those knobs were perfect for my application (Counterpoint preamp... near perfect match).

Then there are THL Audio and possibly vt4c? Not sure what kind of knob and look you are after...

Main issue with knobs I've used is that they are too wide. I like those 15mm diameter gold ones from AudioTek...

Silver or Black? I might have some of the smaller silver THL knobs in my parts drawer.
