I noticed that too. D1 was dark.

The cinematic trailer gave a distinctive LotR feel in a few places. The city with the waterfall in the background (Caldeum?) looked breathtaking.

Also another amazing isometric RPG Westwood Studio's Nox.

Yup, I played Nox back in the days: it was a really fun co-op game.

That's exactly how I felt after watching that video too. After much of Blizzard North bailed from the company I didn't think Blizzard had the ability or drive to make a proper Diablo 3, but that video alone made me throw those thoughts out the window.

Yeah it should be called that. I'm glad they strive to have a great end product, but it's like waiting for a new toy that keeps getting delayed.

Haha after watching the gameplay trailer three times (showed it to some friends,) I must say I really enjoy the narrating.
"I'm sure this chest is filled with treasure, not some kind of insidious trap!" *clicks on the chest and triggers 4 traps*
"I'm sure they'll (the guards) will lead a healthy and long life as your sidekick. Nothing bad is going to happen to them!"

and the occsional "MASSIVE DAMAGE" that is probably referencing that Sony press conference at E3 about some crab dealing "massive damage."

yet another game I never played the original of.

I think SCII looks a bit better, as far as character design. Diablo probably has a more involved story though, i dunno.

Theres a crap load of SCII youtube clips. Looks fun.

As far as modern RTS go, SCII looks ok. The new C&C and Company of Heroes look amazing for current generation games.

No Blizzard game ever looks stunning since they aim for it to run on a variety of computers.

I never played a Blizz game for it's graphics. The only thing that is impressive are the cut scenes. =T

You play Blizz games, especially the RTS' (Starcraft/Warcraft) because of the balance between races. You don't have one that completely overpowers the other like in many other games. That and the strategy/skill involved. You just can't beat them.

I can tell you right now, for either game, if monthly fees are required, then I'll pass. I think monthly fees for games is worse than DRM for music.

I think it looks a bit too much like Warcraft, but I'm still very hyped over this release. I wonder if there's going to be any other new character classes.

I can't find Diablo II or Lord of Destruction anywhere. Must have lost them when I moved.

It looks like they replaced necromancer with witch-doctor. Hope witch-doctor can still summon a shit-ton of skeletons.
