Default Computers-as-source -- audio tracks from DVD?

What's the best way to rip audio tracks from a DVD? Windows, Linux, Mac? The bonus tracks from my Depeche Mode DVD's are a pain since they're region ...whatever Europe is, but I'd like to have access to them, since some of my favorite tracks are there.

you can de-region it with mac the ripper on the mac, and there are programs out to extract audio. But I've not done it, so I can only point you in that direction.

I used to have a program, I think it was (aptly) titled DVD Audio Ripper. I ripped Opeth's Lamentations and The Dresden Dolls' Paradise Live DVDs with it. It worked pretty well, though IIRC the levels were a bit hot.

FYI -- I've been getting good results using a one-two combination of Mac-the-Ripper for getting it off the DVD, and DVD Audio Extractor for getting the audio out of the .VOB files. I've been having some problems, and the one guy has been very responsive.

And yes, it's from DVD's I own -- the bonus DVD's from the Depeche Mode sets, which is nice, because it's coming from a higher quality source material (48kHz and...uh, 24 bits, I think). But more importantly, all those bonus tracks I now have access to on my iPod. Converts to .wav, mp3, ogg and FLAC, amongst other options.

DVD Audio Extractor also works directly with DVD's, although I haven't used it that way myself, yet.
