Shure warranty repair?

my Shure SE530s have started the dreaded sleeve splitting. i bought them on amazon (i think, i get an error when i try to look at older orders) in feb. any idea if they'll fix them? no big if not, i'm a pro at the fix-shures-with-rubber-cement-trick. i sent an email, but i'd love to know what to expect. love these phones.

If they are not covered by a warranty they charge a flat rate for repairs. I sent a pair of 420's in for a friend but I forgot what they charge.

Give them a call or their website may address it. I am thinking $125 or $150.

The flat rate replacement is $125 for SE530. However, the Shure rep over at HF assured the community that they would replace any split cables, even outside of the warranty period. Either PM him (sugarfried?) or stand firm with the customer reps on the phone.

they want a receipt (which i don't think is actually legal in Ohio, i'm fairly sure that our consumer protection laws require companies to service items during the warranty period, regardless, but i may be wrong), and i can't produce it, due to an amazon server time out. i've contacted amazon, but i've never gotten responses from them on support issues, so i don't expect to get one this time.

I don't think it is too outrageous to ask for a receipt or some record to prove it is within the warranty period, but I have contacted Matt and I am hopeful of good things this holiday season.

If you post the serial number, we can decipher the DOB. I think it goes [2 digit wk][1 digit yr], eg., 367 would be 36th week of 2007. If that's not right, it's something similar.

Anyway, your story is the same as I've read on HF. The customer reps want a receipt even though the manufacturer has accepted blame for faulty materials (via Matt on HF). I think you still have a good chance of getting them replaced without cost.

I sent mine in for repair just a month or so ago. They were out of warranty, so I thought I would have to pay the flat fee. I ended up not getting charged anything.
