In The Loop
One of the best comedies I've seen in a long time. I really loved it.

Too clever by half twice, I thought.

Twilight
not as terrible as I expected, but wow the ancillary acting was terrible
an autocrat, racist bastard pushing people around and then acts like a child when pushed back
With Sundance over, it's now time to proclaim,
"The British are Coming!, The Brits, Irish, Aussies, and some South Africans are coming!"

The Invention Of Lying: I enjoyed it immensely.
Nevermind, Veronika Decides to Die is not good.
Just finished An Education. Enjoyable, but probably will not watch again
Finishing up a decade list rewatching MULHOLLAND DRIVE last night and starting a year end series with FANTASTIC MR. FOX the night before. Fox was really a blast and Drive is well worth a second look if you didn't get it the first time (I certainly didn't). This helps. There's a reason Drive is topping most best of the decade lists.

We saw Fox the other night, too, and while I wasn't super-thrilled at the time, I definitely liked it; and it grew on me more afterwards as I recounted it....
As for the wife and I, we watched Leap Year too. Not a great movie, very predictable and formulaic (is that a word?). But I scored points watching a bit of a chick flick and earned some payback later(OK, I lose man-points by admitting it was cute, though - Amy Adams is nice in it, though nothing she's done has topped Enchanted for me)
The Bats Have Left The Belltower
With Rohmers recent death, saw THE GIRL AT THE MONΗEAU BAKERY & MY NIGHT AT MAUD'S last night. Can't wait to watch the rest of the Six Moral Tales.

District 9 both my wife and I enjoyed it.
The night before we watched "Whip It!" which was also a good movie.
Saw Avatar today on imax 3D. Very enjoyable, though probably 6-10db louder than comfortable. First movie I have seen in the theatre in years.
Where'd you see it? I heard someone else say Imax 3D was too loud, but that was Texas, I'm wondering if this is a chronic problem.

In Search of Moebius: Jean Giraud
BBC documentary about Jean Giraud aka Moebius. He is art's influence and designs can be found films like in Alien, Blade Runner, Fifth Element, The Time Masters and Tron![]()
From Paris With Love -- sheer guilty pleasure shoot-'em-up. I particularly enjoyed the John Woo "one-up", wherein the John Travolta character shoots two of these two-handed:
Just a ridiculous movie. Loved it.

Furious Love
Amateurish production but content that gives one pause to think.
The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans (2009)
Interesting, but didn't live up to the other Werner Herzog film's I've seen.
