Maybe it's because Zodiac sucked? Not sure which I prefered less, Zodiac or There Will Be Blood, though. No Country for Old Men was actually good, though.

I haven't seen them all yet, but right off the bat, I'd put O Brother Where Art Thou up in 'genius'. C'mon, it's Homer's Odyssey, Coen Brothers style.

And although I loved Ladykillers and rank it as one of my favorites (it has a special place in my heart because it's the first Coen Brothers film I'd seen that I loved), I wouldn't call it genius.

Because the closest thing the movie had to a climax was in the middle, and wasn't one, exactly?

sounds like a good combination. i think it would be a little too metallic for a pinot, the ore would cover the delicate flavors.

I used to read a ton of books about serial killers (and the one I read about the Zodiac killer was quite good); mostly fiction, but some interesting non-fiction as well.

When people used to piss me off, I'd hold up one of the books, and tell them to please remain silent whilst I read my Cliff Notes.....

Have to say, though, could never get into some of the "modern" serial killer movies (like the SAW series).....

While Ladykillers is flawed it was hilarious and I liked it as well

The Coens' Ladykillers largest flaw is that the Ealing Studios/Alec Guinness/Peter Sellers original is approximately 479x better.

The original is better, but it doesn't make theirs any less funny.

Haven't seen the original, but the way to think of it is that they're different movies. Is the first one "black comedy"? Because the Coen Bros.' one is.
