One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. An Oscar winning performance by both aformentioned parties IMO.

I was expecting the movie to revolve around an elicit affair between a 15 y.o. boy and an older woman, as was the case in 'Notes on a Scandal'.
As it turns out the cross generational affair plays a smaller role to a much deeper and more riveting drama.

    Two big thumbs up!
I would have to disagree: the film was practically screaming "OSCAR BAIT" from the moment it started. It takes itself too seriously, but I did like the fact that Kate Winslet was naked for so much of it

It definitely makes it go up a notch in my book. I mean, the interest in the movie goes up a notch.

Saw the new "Night At The Museum" movie. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Terminator Salvation -- meh -- things-go-boom == (thumbs-up); everything else (lack of a creative story, melodramatic overacting, not enough Bryce Dallas Howard...even Danny Elfman's score sounded like some Batman scraps) == (thumbs-down).

Heck, even the things-go-boom stuff wasn't that spectacular.

I was afraid of this. The trailers look like Terminator meets Resident Evil

saw Terminator salvation last night. It was ok. A few scenes that lasted too long/not needed. Not too much story, but lots of action. Better than the one before this at the very least, but similar to the previous one, doesn't cover that much story.
wow...this was actually really hard for me to figure out... =/

Finally got around to seeing Star Trek. I can see why die hard fans might not like it, but I enjoyed it very much. The bits of laughter injected amongst all the seriousness was great.

Honestly, I was pretty put-off by the PG-13 rating. This is Terminator. It is about ruthless robots destroying humanity through brutality. Moreover, as a young man "Terminator" was like the Holy Grail of "R" movies. It was the one your friends whispered that their parents let them see, and the one you sneakily tried to rent for sleepovers.

They've robbed two generations of a good experience.

Benjamin Button -- meh, still divided about this -- things I really loved about this movie, things I absolutely hated.

Watch Cube 2 and Cube Zero (if you haven't already)!!

I have a strange fascination with this trilogy even though they aren't that good aside from the first one.

    Kung Fu Panda.

Not as hyperactively inane as most of the other Dreamworks Animation efforts, with the added advantage of being short. And to be fair, the visuals are absolutely amazing.

I agree. Sort of the same with Cube Zero, though I like Cube 2 more.
