To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

I disagree. To crush your enemies, see them driven before, and to hear the lamentation of the women. That is best in life. - EdipisReks
Gonna go see that at 7!

Inglourious Basterds -- fucking awesome. The guy who played Landa -- Christoph Waltz -- was particularly good.

'Michael Clayton'
It's fun. Very well balanced - performances, sound, photography, sets, etc. - I caught the same sort of vibe that I did from 'No Country for Old Men', only a bit less so.
Squeezebox 3 > Musical Fidelity XDAC V8 > Woo WA6SE> Senn HD 650 or AGK K-701 or
Stax SR-5 via transformer & speaker amp
Rega P3/Koestu Rosewood > Jeff Rowland Coherence 1 > Aragon 4004 > Apogee Caliper Signatures
30 GB 5G iPod > RSA Tomahawk > Shure SE420 or Head Direct RE-1 or Shure SRH840
And it really didn't feel like 2.5 hours.
Oh, and the tagline sucks, "You haven't seen war until you've seen Quentin Tarantino do war" -- it's not a war film.

it's a poor spelling film.

Awesome movie. I loved it.

The Great Buck Howard.
Pretty entertaining. I really like Colin Hanks, and it was fun to see him act next to his Father.
Inglorious Basterds here too. I thought it was very much a war film. Hollywood fantasy as a war film, but war film none the less. I loved it. Almost as good as Kill Bill.
Saw "Shorts" yesterday, liked it, in a cute kid movie kinda way. For such good friends, Tarrantino and Rodriguez sure have reached different places.

It wasn't a large scale combat war film like Cross of Iron or Hamburger Hill, though. I think people going in with that sort of expectation are going to be disappointed, that's all. It's a classic Tarantino film, though. Lots of great dialog, but the action is highly condensed in very short stints. Most of the film is very personal, and deals more with people than that sort of large scale combat seen in those films.

I had a weird experience watching it. I think 2/3 of the audience were ww2 vets. Or they were old enough to be anyway. They loved it, and reacted in spots that surprised me.
I think it's the kind of war movie someone who was there would make, or at least appreciate, but through the holywood fantasy filter.
