This sounds interesting and I signed up. However a good film is a good film and isn't really like music where you might not like a good album because it's a genre you don't listen to. But I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out![]()
If case anyone is interested, info and invites here.

Hey Deepak, how is that different? I know people who can't stand Westerns, "chick flicks," horror or fantasy. Hell, I know a guy who basically avoids any movie before 1980 because "films weren't realistic back then."![]()
I think the bias of just give me what I want (which with todays audience basically forms stronger genre biases - much like the explosion of fan lit) may actually be more pronounced in film. I may just be more sensitive to that side of things, but I wouldn't say for instance the film conversations here are nearly as diverse as the music. And even your average Joe knows he should like Mozart and The Beatles. I don't think you could get the equivalent in film from most.

What? Before I attack this statement, I'd like to understand it -- are you saying that, unlike music, in which personal preference (aka subjectivity) reigns supreme, that in movies, there is some absolute scale (aka objectivity) upon which movies can be graded? You do realize how ridiculous that sounds when I say it like that, right?
