I've seen those guys (and girl) last week opening for Symphony X. I liked the blend of traditionnal folk music elements with power metal and I enjoyed some of their songs quite a bit. Unfortunately, the volume was turned up way too loud and sound quality was what you'd expect from an opening band in a heavy metal show.Epica - The Divine Conspiracy

I've heard great things about their live show. And I've also heard good things about Amanda Sommerville, the singer you saw who was filling in for Simone. Amanda has been involved in Epica from the beginning, as Simone's vocal coach and singing harmonies. So she was the perfect fill-in.Originally Posted by GPH

Oh, so that wasn't their regular singer?! She had a wonderful stage presence and her pitch was spot-on. She also interacted a lot with the musicians and I really couldn't have told she was there in replacement.Originally Posted by en480c4

That's my ex's album that he did while I was living with him. We had cartoon music going in the house 24/7 for months. No lie. Maybe that's what happened to to my brain. Carl Stalling is the best, though.Originally Posted by jinp6301

He's a good guy, and more knowledgeable about music in cartoons than any sane person would want to know. Let me know.

Awesome, the thing is that I'll only be in NYC from this thurs night to monday afternoon since I go to school upstate. If he can meet me during that time, I am definitely up for it!
I'll give him a call today, and if he can do it, I'll send you a pm. Is your paper on Stalling or on music in cartoons in general?
