  1. After using my srm717 for years, on a hot humid (35* 90+% humidity) day when powering down I noticed arcing and minor smoke from near Q34. After powering down for several days I tested it again, the amp seems to be working correctly but powering on or off will reproduce the arcing. A close inspection noticed the fault between the two traces (see the attached picture). I've been told told to clean between the traces with a scalpel / hobby knife, clean the board with cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and then resurface with circuit board lacquer. What I am unsure of is if this is likely to be a freak occurrence or if I have some kind of underlying issue with the amp.
  2. Was it not per board? (not board set). At least how I read the posts. Either way its far cheaper than I was expecting. Edit: Looks like I just failed at reading.
  3. I reread my earlier post and noticed it was rather unclear, Should read, I assume it is too late to participate even if I'm more than willing to take a non complete set of spares. Also $93.32 is surprisingly cheap which is rather nice compared to the 150-200 dollars a board quoted at the start of the thread.
  4. Why your only looking at somewhere in the mid 20's (kg) weight wise for the t2, which really isn't bad at all... a 21" CRT monitor for example will weigh about 40kg. By the way I assume it is too late to get on board (even if only for the boards)?
  5. My 717 still doesn't have enough juice to push the O2s, certainly compression hits before the response goes flat, catscractch's observations on Fletcher-Munson curves, seem to hold up until that point . I also had similar issues with an interest in artificial brightness to start with as well though.
  6. You in the main need a deputy service ex: kuboTEN. $350-400ish for the Lambda Pros. As for the sound of the spirit, obviously they will share the common lambda tendencies but beyond that I haven't heard either enough to give solid feed back.
