  1. Initial viewing confirms I managed to NOT screw it up. Looks pretty cool.
  2. Birthday girl wanted pancakes.
  3. Got the monster truck tires mounted on the Aspero today and went out for a spin. Was happy to average 19 with 40s and the bike turning itself into a single speed for the last 13 miles.
  4. I'm a 30/32 guy on the road. I think my Roubaix maxes out at 32 and that's what's on it now. I have a pair of 30s in reserve for when those wear out and won't sweat the difference.
  5. I'm heading in to work tomorrow at 3am to trigger the time lapse camera that I setup this afternoon using my A7IV. If all goes to plan it'll take at least 3000 still frames over a 24 hour period and not fall from the sky (it's mounted ~100' in the air). It's on a smallrig mount with multiple tethers so it shouldn't be capable of flight and should be rigid enough to be stable/consistent throughout. If I get the video cleared for public release I'll post it.
  6. Sorry for the slow reply, challenging week here. Garlic Naan: 2 tsp active dry yeast 1 tsp sugar 1/2 cup lukewarm water 1 large egg 1/3 cup avocado oil 1/4 cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour (I often do 50/50 w/ bread flour) 1 tsp salt Naan Prep: Combine yeast, sugar, and water. Stir, let rest for until bubbly ~ 5 minutes. Add egg, oil, yogurt to yeast mixture and mix until combined. Combine salt and flour in a large bowl (stand mixer). Add liquid ingredients and mix/knead for 4-5 minutes until a smooth dough ball forms. Grease bowl to prevent sticking, cover and let rest/rise for min 1 hr or until doubled in size. On a floured surface, roll into rough log shape and divide into even pieces. Shape into balls, cover, and on let rest for 20 minutes on a flour dusted cutting board/sheet pan/whatever. Roll into flattened discs, 8” in diameter and roughly 1/8” thick. Cook on a lightly oiled, hot skillet or flat top grill. ~60 seconds each side w/ care taken not to burn. That all was extracted from this - .
  7. Made chicken shawarma with naan tonight. The naan was one of my better batches.
  8. Happy birthday, Brent!
  9. For the drone of the leaf blower I would think most modern ANC headphones would be able to kill most of the noise but nothing is going to neutralize all of it. Best bet is likely to be to use ANC plus some ambient music to really drive it into the background. Best guess, but one that I haven't tried personally, would be the latest airpods + comply tips to hopefully gain a little passive NR.
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. I'm going to try my hand at timelapse photography next week for work. So. 40000mAH external and a dummy internal are on the way for the A7IV for the 6000 or so images I'll need to capture across the 36hr exercise. Here's to hoping it's not a bunch of wasted effort. Suggestions/hints/tips are welcome.
  12. @Knuckledragger - the ticks have been horrific up here this spring. For the last couple of weeks I've been finding anywhere from 2-6 on the couch every night that are presumably riding the dog into the house after he gets walked. So (joy of joys) part of my nightly ritual before sitting down to relax in the mostly dark living room is to inspect the couch via flashlight to find the little fuckers. Found two tonight right near where I typically sit, so happy to have done that and then sent them straight to hell in a blazing inferno.
  13. Fondant potatoes, Andrew's request for part of his birthday dinner.
  14. It was the side burner on the grill so that counts, right?
  15. We had my parents down for dinner so I made 6 lbs of baby back ribs and both sweet Italian and garlic/cheese smoked sausage.
