Landed back in Texas today. Had a fantastic time with my Brother and his family. I'm worn out from full days at Seaworld and Disneyland. The only regret is missing Al by hours in San Diego! Would have loved to make that work.10 points

Thinking jp needs some bunny ears or some other Easter themed humiliation. Who cares how the coffee tastes. We need to be entertained.3 points

Tell JP to use the tamper that came with the machine, instead of tamping it with Raffy. That may help, as Raffy is probably too soft.3 points

12v filament version posted pretty sure the original was done the way it was to accomodate the 6dj8 tubes for those that wanted to do that edit: the filaments of the output tubes are tied to -450v on the board3 points

I upgraded from the regular Sapphire to that one recently. I tend to get at least $300 a month in cash back so the fee is not an issue. Outside of their getting all uppity when I buy big stuff or travel a lot and shutting down the card "for my protection", it has been a pretty great card. I was told recently that they might try to submit my cash back as taxable income at some point since I tend to get so much back, as I spend like a mad man. Not sure if that is legitimate or not.2 points

the conversion to 12V filament for the small tubes is easy and I should be able to get that done tomorrow, too many other things got in the way today.2 points

Hey! The meet is still on and we need to get an idea of how many we should plan for. So far I have not heard from any local dealers about attending so this could just be hobbyists. I am sure that Purk has a handle on what's going on and I will be in touch with him shortly! I'm psyched as hell to watch the beard-man and the wild-man go at it. That is going to be one heck of a fun 1st round series. Once we get to the 2nd round things should really heat up.1 point

Got 0.75V bias with strapped 500R parallel to 1K to get a new floor of 200R; 5-min job... Two chassis was my initial plan; however, a simple single chassis with small footprint/stack would be nice. I did try the amp out with the trafos off the chassis (a foot or so away). No noticeable improvement on the noise floor with trafos on-board. Yes, the AC/signal wiring is sloppy (so excited to get the thing humming into life). Will have to clean-up the wiring...1 point

Let's go Jazz! Can't wait for the national audience to see how special Gobert is. I'll be at Game 1 in LA.1 point

Good point...didn't think about safety issue; being a cheapass, I was just thought to save some resistors for other projects The 500R is nestled pretty tight in against the pot and 5K, so 1K is easier to replace/mod with. Will work out what needs to get lower floor (~200R or so?). I'll run it at 0.75V bias; the heat was ok, just warm, not hot. Though, my heat sink is smaller than yours, so may be keep it low (will test it out and decide). Yours is so beautiful, mine is so bland and ugly! So jelly...1 point
