The strapmaker is combat straps, based in Montreal. Also made shipping alligator leather a little simpler than if I ordered elsewhere. This pic shows a bit more of the dial texture, though it's still not quite how it looks in person. Gotta love the acrylic domes that these old watches tended to have too.4 points

Agreed. We threw out our cheap dishes and we use the fancy ones every day. Things are meant to be used.3 points

I think you guys have inspired me enough to actually take my trusty Giant to work this week. It's just so much easier to fit in a run. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk3 points

Beater Litespeeds are great Juan. I am looking for a cool old Serotta like yours now. Want some steel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

This place is going to make me spend more money than I already do, which is saying something. I don't own many watches....although that is becoming more challenging following this thread. I love the Omega stuff. Had a nice Seamaster swiped when we were relocating during a stint in South America. This is one I bought myself a couple of years ago. It's a Seiko Japanese model I purchased though Massdrop (meh on this vendor). Something about "Cocktail watch". I wear it quite a bit to work. It's a nicely made watch although I have to say the clasp/buckle mechanism is not only funky for being upside down compared to what I'm accustomed to but it's a lot of work as the length of band setting mechanism often comes out of the hole and I have to chase the secondary belt for the band all too often. 48 hour reserve which is not bad nor great as I've used it a while now. Didn't seem to like our watch winder although I should put more effort into that. All in all pretty good value for money and it kept me from buying something more expensive while we pour money into our kids, our old home and my crack habit like pursuit of vehicles.... I used Massdrop's pics as the ones I took with my phone were, shall we say, lacking. The specs: 6R15 automatic movement Seiko Cal.6R15 Manual 23-jewels 21,600 bph Hand winding compatible Hacking seconds Case: Stainless steel Crystal: Domed Hardlex Case width: 40 mm Case height: 13 mm Lug width: 20 mm Power reserve: 50 hours Water resistance: 50 m Made in Japan HS2 points

both joe's av and abes of maine are listed on LG's website as non-authorized. If you buy from them and there is a warranty issue you are out of luck. abt gave me a healthy discount in the way of an immediately useable cash card for $500, and the tv is the best thing I have seen ever. although due to the shiny front screen I had to rearrange all the track lighting to get rid of reflections. and then there is this https://www.engadget.com/2017/06/23/sharp-oled-tv-rumor/ so in about 2 years there will be oled competition.2 points

Wow, sorry to hear about the Vector problem Chris. I have been reading on DC rainmakers blog about the P1 and the main issue seems to be bearings going bad. But otherwise seem much straightforward than the Garmin. Jeff good to hear on the Garmin going strong for you. These are the V2? On reading about the vector2 the main complaint seems to be battery drain. So the punch line is ymmv and all that. [emoji12] I have not posted much here, but still ride. I updated the Di2 bikes to do the sync shifting and I like it. I almost never touch the front shifter any more. Last September got a Niner rlt9 on close out at Jenson for commuting set it with panniers. Love it. Also picked up a beater Litespeed, that turned out to be an outstanding ride. Surprisingly comfy. My Vectors are still going strong, even with my fat ass riding on them. Picking up the Jones bike tomorrow, I believe, and will need to start figuring out how electronic MTB shifting works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

A lot of truth to that. Take fancy china and crystal from wedding gifts. What's the point if you don't use them now and again... Probably a bad example after the manly wood chopping one...lol. HS1 point

no feedback and a voltage gain between 500 and 1000 yep that is going to work, for at least 15 minutes till the tubes drift.1 point

Given the garbage that is their other products...an Egmont? Seriously, high gain tubes, AC coupled but with a DC coupled output stage and horribly overpriced like the rest of their shit?1 point

I took some naproxen before I went to bed, and my neck is feeling better. I took some advil when I got up. I think I'm okay. The neck pain could have been from anything. Yeah, it's a bad situation. Honestly, she should be in a nursing home, but I think she's refused to go.1 point

4 great albums. I've been on a Fiona Apple kick lately, myself.... I still remember seeing her live for the first time, opening for Chris Isaak, looking 16 18 (I think she was), but having an old soul, like watching someone birthing a fully formed adult.1 point

I was wearing a flannel shirt. I got scratched more than my watch did, I'm sure. It was hot as fuck, too, so the flannel shirt didn't appreciate it. Wabi Sabi. I used to get irritated when my knives got scratched. What's the fucking point of having them if they don't get used for the intended use? I finally realized what Steve Jobs realized a long time ago. I wish I had a ground up iPod. It would be honest. Perfect looking backpacking boots just means you haven't been backpacking. That ultra thin JLC is scratched up. I wore it, and I scratched it up.1 point

Round 4 of the AX season tomorrow and we have 9 drivers and 6 Focus ST entrants. My buddy is going to co-drive my car and I would hope I can at least beat him and the other guy I've been racing against thus far. Weather looks glorious so it should be a good day. Chris, the update is pretty harmless as you can select what mode on the shift box under the stem, so if you end up not liking it, just select regular shifting instead of synchronized one. Jeff, have you checked the Niner RLT steel? It's Reynolds 853, which is decent enough for a mass produced bike. I got the cheaper aluminum and I think you have the carbon Niner, right? So, if you like the geometry, that is a solid option.. I've heard the steel rides great. Also, if you are thinking higher end steel, custom, Kirk may be a good option. Jeff, meant to add: If an older Serotta steel is what you are looking for, The Paceline is the place to keep an eye out for one. 56/58ish for you right? What I have is a CSi, outstanding ride. Atlanta is good model as well.1 point

Glad to hear you're still rolling Juan. Did not know about that sync update. Probably not my thing but I should try it. My P1 aren't getting heavy use these days so maybe that's why I have been lucky. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk1 point

Welcome @Cattler! Welcome to head-case. Hope everything is chill with you. Do you meditate regularly? I think its pretty cool to do so. I look forward to it now. For a fun and easy tex-mex meal, cut up some chicken breast into cubes and saute in the pan with salt and pepper. They'll cook quick. Then cut up an avocado or two, add salsa and tortilla chips of your choice and VOILA, you have a tasty and reasonably healthy dinner. Works great for leftovers except for avocados which turn into a goddamn horror show 20 minutes after you cut them open. What is the deal with that? @Cattler lets get to work on an avocado that stays good for longer. Thanks for your time.1 point
