  1. Look! Top plate, 1.6 mm copper clad single sided. I do think we have copper polish somewhere in the house…

  3. Adding a 100k resistor worked. The problem seemed to be only with one channel but caused the effect in both when they were connected to the same power supply (!?). Latching was to B+ on both outputs, permanently, immediately after the high voltage was applied. I use a cpc1117N as a delay retrofitted to the GRHV boards that didn't have it built in, so the tubes are pre-heated. I've attached a picture below. I'll test more thoroughly but probably not till the end of the week. Happy to *try* to answer any questions: though I've built quite a few different KG amps and can follow instructions, I wouldn't say that I *understand* anything.

  5. the GRHV "sw" boards are the original size with the optocoupler switch (CPC1117) and the sws boards which are the shrunk size with the optocoupler switch. the opto will both turn on soft, and turn off soft. the opto is normally on, which keeps the power supply off, applying 5 volts thru a 10k resistor turns the opto off which allows the power supply to start So power your choice of timer board and send output to the switch with a resistor to limit current through the opto check data sheet, think its 3-5ma

  8. i like it a lot, reminds me of the audio note stuff, wanted to do something similar for the t2 maybe i'll try it out for the t8000 tube ccs version

  9. 5V thru a resistor or 12V driving the cpc1117N opto coupler so after 30 seconds you apply a voltage, delay timer 555 or similar, same as T2

  11. I've built the Carbon-Triode with the new servo using Kevin's boards. The board works, as does the servo, but it sometimes latches to B+ at startup. Is there an obvious cause of that I should check for? It doesn't happen when the servos are disconnected, and one channel seems more susceptible than the other. I had to change the tail resistor to 200R to get the offset to zero.

  12. This place is going to make me spend more money than I already do, which is saying something. I don't own many watches....although that is becoming more challenging following this thread. I love the Omega stuff. Had a nice Seamaster swiped when we were relocating during a stint in South America. This is one I bought myself a couple of years ago. It's a Seiko Japanese model I purchased though Massdrop (meh on this vendor). Something about "Cocktail watch". I wear it quite a bit to work. It's a nicely made watch although I have to say the clasp/buckle mechanism is not only funky for being upside down compared to what I'm accustomed to but it's a lot of work as the length of band setting mechanism often comes out of the hole and I have to chase the secondary belt for the band all too often. 48 hour reserve which is not bad nor great as I've used it a while now. Didn't seem to like our watch winder although I should put more effort into that. All in all pretty good value for money and it kept me from buying something more expensive while we pour money into our kids, our old home and my crack habit like pursuit of vehicles.... I used Massdrop's pics as the ones I took with my phone were, shall we say, lacking. The specs: 6R15 automatic movement Seiko Cal.6R15 Manual 23-jewels 21,600 bph Hand winding compatible Hacking seconds Case: Stainless steel Crystal: Domed Hardlex Case width: 40 mm Case height: 13 mm Lug width: 20 mm Power reserve: 50 hours Water resistance: 50 m Made in Japan HS

  13. That was a steal of a final price providing no major work was needed. My PX-2 is my go to table, I still have Stretch's old Origin Live Sovereign sitting in the box waiting for me to sell it. On another note the newish Hana carts are fucking stunning and a stupid great deal at $750. I just bought the SH and wish I had picked up the SL but the dealer I bought from said they all are awesome even the $450 model. If you are in the market you will absolutely not be disappointed.
