Not today, but very soon my buddy Milo (some of you may remember him from my trip to Lake Michigan recently, and he looks remarkably similar to Al) and I will be building this configurable router table together... Should be a really fun project, and quite useful for our little shop we're assembling. Milo is a handy guy!6 points

I sent an email a while back to OB about the dark roasts no matter what coffee I ordered and the response was that they think it tastes better. I stopped buying from them at that moment. Stretch, I'm just a douche. No need to limit to coffee or otherwise.4 points

I am way more of a douche, then obsessive compulsive. Ask Jp and raffy.2 points

Apple is done with physical inputs (and outputs). They've decided wireless is the way, hence the dedicated chipsets to take the pain out of pairing and managing the connection. Mark my words, as soon as wireless charging is deemed "good enough" they'll disappear the Lightning port too. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth and, as with the headphone jack, not a single fuck will be given in Cupertino.2 points

Mike with two undergraduate psychology classes under my belt I learned that one should not confuse "douche" with "obsessive compulsive" of which HC is populated with a plethora as members1 point

The NYT compared HomePod to Alexa and Assistant and found that it had the best sound by far but did everything else worse. And to use voice commands to play music you have to subscribe to Apple Music. I'll wait this one out... https://nyti.ms/2scONUe1 point

It took me a while, but I've learned that over roasting is not my thing. That was my only complaint with O.B. Hs1 point

I roast my own when it's warm. When it's not I found a decent coffee at costco, surprisingly.1 point

The solder tab on the body connects through to the cable connector shell. Unless the body of the connector is connected to chassis that gains you nothing. You need to connect pin 1 to chassis as directly as possible. Reducing the loop area is the aim of the game. To do individual grounds at each XLR you have to clean the paint or anodizing off around the fixing screws so the solder tabs at that point are shorted to chassis metal. I do that with a Dremel before I start installing hardware, so it is easy from there. It also ensures that the shell of the XLR (and hence the shell of the cable connector) is tightly grounded too.1 point

Same. I've stuck with Old Bisbee and they've never let me down. As long as I read the tasting notes before ordering I generally end up very happy.1 point

I've got a friend who has one coming in on Friday. We are going to play around with it and do some testing with various placements to see how Apple's DSP handles everything. I'm pretty curious to see how it sounds as you move it from place to place in a room. The lack of an analog inputs makes it a non-starter for me, but there is always version 2 to look forward to!1 point

find a local 3rd wave coffee shop and get a city roast bean1 point

One of these https://www.baratza.com/grinder/vario/ . 230 grinding settings - what is not to like? Comes with a container to grind into as well. And when eventually the ceramic burrs wear, they are dead easy to replace.1 point

Baratza Virtuoso is what I have and use. Had a Bodum burr grinder before that which died an unfortunate death at the hand of a stone in my beans (it happens, evidently) and was specifically referred to this model as being able to deal with that without having terminal results. I think I've had it for a good 3yrs or more now and it's been great. Has both timed and button-hold options for grinding and the required variation of grind for drip/FP/espresso/etc.1 point
