  5. It's jazzy vocal pop. Her band is amazing, we attended her concert live a couple of years ago and had a great time. She sings with taste and soul, in the Billie Holiday or Amy Winehouse kind of way. She tries to give a different touch to standards and has her own compositions

  6. I am far from an expert roaster but I have found that there are some beans, a batch of Sumatra I have at the moment, that I have only been able to get a darker (full city or full city plus) roast. Others do well at lighter to medium roasts (city, city plus). I drink it all, tend to use the darker roasts for espresso. The darker roast seem to have less acidity. It was just the idea that all the coffee OB tastes best when darker did not make sense to me. Having said that, I enjoyed most of the coffee I bought from them.

  9. I trolled through Mike's thread and found his response from over a year ago. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/schiit-yggdrasil-impressions-thread.766347/page-161#post-12572358 There are several things wrong or at least questionable with his post, not to mention his continual fixation with the one eyed trouser snake and ironically replacing and therefore equating shit with Schiit (mirroring reality). Too lazy to go through it one by one, though, maybe someone else will give it a stab.

  10. Not today, but very soon my buddy Milo (some of you may remember him from my trip to Lake Michigan recently, and he looks remarkably similar to Al) and I will be building this configurable router table together... Should be a really fun project, and quite useful for our little shop we're assembling. Milo is a handy guy!

  12. The main problem back in the day was that phono stages were generally crap. Indifferent RIAA accuracy, poor overload margin, and high distortion. I have a circuit of a '70's period ortofon MC phono stage somewhere that had an array of parallel 680uF 3V tantalum bead capacitors between the cartridge and the (100 ohm) load. Ugh. Ugh, ugh uuughhh! And it was not cheap. An even modest quality phono stage now runs rings round that sort of nonsense.
