Local Wisconsin blue cheese Mixed salad with Brussels sprouts and a bunch of other good stuff Seared sea scallops with house made Kimchee and some sort of great sauce Roasted duck breast with buttermilk biscuit, local country ham, etc etc Deep fried oyster mushroom, sprouts, sauce ... Poached pear, almond semi-freddo, chocolate cookie, chocolate truffle ... funny how I remember the dessert ...

Thanks all. Did get my first skate in since the crash today, felt ok. All slides worked out as expected. Had a couple of good meals, which each were the size of a couple good meals, with a couple of good friends.

We got 6-8" overnight. It's supposed to hit 70 by Wednesday so we took advantage and went snowshoeing this afternoon.

2nd DAM1021 build close to being complete, waiting for a 1-foot USB cable. This one is with the DAM1021-12 board, the one the uses .01% and .02% resistors which can be visually identified by the blue resistors in the R-2R ladder. The TPA Cronus/Hermes re-clocking and isolator is probably an overkill here given the DAM1021 already provides both functions on the board. The power supply for the DAM1021 is based on TPS7A3301 set for 9.3VDC rails. Based on my experience I would not skimp on the PS for the DAM1021. The extra power supply is needed for the Cronus/Hermes.

Mini Dynalo After running the amp for over an hour, bias was 14+mA, so right where I want it to be. The ones that @mypasswordis mentioned from ebay don't seem to be available any more, and I'm having a hard time finding any that appear to be suitable size. There are some I almost pulled the trigger on that were 50mm x 25mm, but the 25mm would leave the end transistors half covered. I could get the Fischer SK81/37.5/SA from TME and cut them in half, but I'm trying to avoid that if possible. I'd need enough for 3 amps. Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan (for really obvious reasons)... I've been meaning to read it for years.

After looking online at all sorts of random devices/gadgets, from Jensen isolating transformers ($200) to $80 power plug hum eliminators (little devices that plug at the outlet that have diodes in between the wall and plug grounds), I figured it prudent to see if just plugging the turntable through an extension into the zerosurge that has the whole rest of the system plugged into it would eliminate the ground loop. Yup it did! lol. I used a generic power strip to check so I just ordered a standard extension cord (14awg 15a, matched the supplied power cord with the technics) for a few bucks. I'm sure I can probably just order a longer power cord to replace the whole darn thing as well. I guess sometimes it's the simplest solution that is the most ideal.

RIP to my sister-in-law Carol.....a wonderful, silly, generous, smart, sometimes neurotic woman who loved her family, especially her two kids, more than I thought humanly possible. Had been having epileptic seizures off and on, meds weren't fully helping; usually seizures in sets of two when they came. She and my brother were in Florida visiting my older nephew. Apparently last night she had two seizures but then a third, went back to bed after, and never woke up. I'm going to miss you horribly....may your love shine down from heaven.
