  1. Um, yeah. I was so drunk last night that I spent half an hour trying to find the “Who’s Drunk” thread. Never did.

  6. Did some fine tuning on my Megatron. Bring the regulated HV down to 430VDC rails and changed one resistor from 21K to 15K to supply 300VDC to the front end tubes. In my case the front end tubes draw about 8.5mA total. Also changes the EL34 tubes around in an attempt to bring down the output offset. It's now down to 12VDC yet not as low as I would like. Have a few more sets of EL34 to swap and match to see how low I can bring the offset down to. The output balance is around 3VDC for both channels. The toggle switch on the back of the PSU controls the power to the CPC1117N relay on the GRHV and function as the HV delay switch.

  10. Second time around, “Atomic Blond” or is it the triple... see what I did... Brilliant use of Voices Carry “I'm in the dark, I'd like to read his mind But I'm frightened of the things I might find Oh, there must be something he's thinking of To tear him away-a-ay When I tell him that I'm falling in love Why does he say-a-ay Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Uh-ah I try so hard not to get upset Because I know all the trouble I'll get Oh, he tells me tears are something to hide And something to fear-eh-eh And I try so hard to keep it inside So no one can hear Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Uh-ah Oh! He wants me, but only part of the time He wants me, if he can keep me in line Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Hush hush, shut up now, voices carry Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry Hush hush, darling, she might overhear Hush, hush - voices carry He said shut up - he said shut up Oh God can't you keep it down Voices carry Hush hush, voices carry I wish he would let me talk” Songwriters: Aimee Mann / Robert Holmes / Michael Hausman / Joey Pesce Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  11. Did you ever discover Devics? That bowed saw just slays me. Me -- a playlist of Archive's longer songs + Fuck U: Lights Again Finding It So Hard Junkie Shuffle Controlling Crowds Collapse/Collide Funeral Axiom Shiver Axiom (Reprise) Fuck U Waste An online friend of mine (not from here!) introduced me to this band, and every once in a while, I have to binge them. British, Bit of shoegazer, bit of alternative, bit of triphop, bit of...Radiohead? No, not Radiohead, but someone like them, can't put my finger on of whom they remind me.

  13. Went to a small vinyl show/sale today, hosted by a store in the top floor of an old mill in Lowell MA. Place wasn't laid out super well, but they had maybe 8-10 vendors/people selling viny (as well as the ability to walk in the store as well; the vendors lined the hallways and an open area near the store). A bit of the usual populace was there, older men like me who love to talk music. A pleasantly surprising number of women, several of whom seemed to know their stuff. But I'd say 60-70% were pure hipster.....sorry, but your clothes, haircuts including several man-buns and thick beards are just annoying, as is your habit to take your time in front of many bins and talk to your friends while others are waiting. But overall a decent show, prices weren't too outrageous but likely bumped up some for them hipsters. Came back with about 1/2 a dozen pieces of vinyl. My favorite catch was a Germs 10" called Cat's Clause, and the down-memory-lane discussion I had with the seller about alt & punk bands from "the day"

  21. The other hidden benefit of the UK Royal Family is the number of good works they do. The charity my wife runs has a Patron. That used to be the Queen Mother, but is now Countess Wessex (wife of the Queen's youngest son). She is not just a title - she is massively engaged with the charity, most recently hosting a fund raising dinner at her house (Bagshot Park). But - that is only one of 70 charities she is patron of. That is absolutely gratis, and multiplying the effort for my wife's charity by 70 and you get pretty much a full-time job. And she is not unique - everyone in the Royal Family does this sort of thing, and is absolutely priceless to the good causes they support.
