Keep in mind that a new mac pro to replace the trash can is rumored for june. Might make a hell of a lot more sense than the iMac Pro for most users.

Apple refreshed the iMac series and it includes an 8 core i9 version with turbo boost up to 5Ghz! Thunderbolt 3, Radian 580, upgradeable ram and 4 or 5k 27inch screens. Gotta say I'm tempted to finally retire my cheese grater! I guess my only "if" is how many years the monitor will last or stay current? But for someone who was going to pull the trigger on a new monitor (like today) it stopped me in my tracks.

Shorted out the 150K resistors in red circles which then bypasses corresponding Darlington pairs. I run amplifier +/-400 V and 5 mA. IMO the amplifier sounds about the same as with higher currents and all transistors on duty. I believe it’s possible to build a decent all SMD version of the CFAE. Reduce voltage to let say +/-300 V - how small can one build a power supply?

filed our taxes. i never imagined a scenario where the my tax-plagued state of Illinois would give me back more money than federal. lol.

Back when I was a driving instructor (only 2 years!) I used to visit various DMV's 3 or 4 times a week. Things have improved for many of them but there has always been a huge difference between locations. Find the best one within a reasonable distance and stick with that one (like G-man and TMoney said). Never go on Mondays, Fridays or the day after a holiday. Since I moved to a town of around 150,000 I hardly have a chance to sit down before I get my business done. Most of the time, there's only 1 or 2 people in line. BTW Part of the reason anything having to do with ID can't be done online is the whole immigration debate and how Homeland Security clamped down of this stuff just when the internet would have taken over the DMV.

Now when there are nice tapping tools out there I think I try mount sands direct on heat sink. I've done this today. I cut of 20 mm of the board where the bracket should be so now it’s 80 mm x 160 mm. The layout was not meant for this so there is a need for a couple of extra jumper wires. Most things are doable. Here is my tapping tool with rather long shaft M3 tap.
