  1. added a proper scale (jennings cj-4000). needed to have precise measuring on my bean-to-water ratio (starting with 1:16 after bypassing and will play around with that). i now have everything i would need to do pour over except for that actual pour over device, something i said i wouldn't go off the deep end for... i'll give it a couple months before i end up with a kalita wave or hario v60. more interested in kalita, seems a bit easier to use and more consistent.

  3. I agree Sam, in fact the more I look the more I dislike it. The only thing I do like is it’s in stainless steel, but that’s about it.

  4. Totally not relevant now. It is with great hesitation that I post this here and not in the HC watches thread.

  6. No worries. This GB has dragged on for far too long. We should be back on track soon!

  7. I was fooled time and again by this... poor vid quality and recorded in what looks like a club. but whomever was recording the session, knew what they were doing, and Haley brings it.

  9. My present from the wife with her present from me in the background. She got hers a few weeks early as at ~850lbs and it's giant size I wasn't installing the pro 48 myself.

  10. My girlfriend got me an interesting watch for Christmas. It’s made from reclaimed whiskey barrels and a miyota quartz movement. 47mm but wears a little smaller.

  11. Thanks, the wife has done a lot of work to get it to this point. There is one large and 3 medium cabinets left to build then she will move on to making the drawers and doors. Apparently she finds this sort of thing 'fun'. She is also going to do the custom interior of the safe with the upper part jewelry and watch drawers and the lower for files.

  13. ^ Don't, please. I don't like the new AL&S either. It's trying to be classic and elegant while adding modern features, and I don't like how they're mixing.

  16. Doing my best to plant the seeds with the wife. Started out by looking at a VC chrono next the wife. She says "what another watch?! You just got one a few months ago!". My retort "it's got a pulsation scale so it's a business expense right?". Then I go on to say it's way to expensive for me, she asks what I was thinking of for my next one, I tell her the seamaster bull head. I shift my eyes over with out moving my head and she has moved from FB and is typing that into a note. The question is when she gets me this for Xmas do I tell my AD not to cash the check or do I tell him to keep it as credit for me..

  17. Perhaps you haven't noticed but supporting a competitive fencer is very expensive, but no fears my silence can be purchased for reasonable cash installments.

  18. Well I decided to pull the trigger on the omega seamaster bullhead. It arrived today at my local AD. It will live there for some time.. I need to build up some more good will with the wife before bringing it home. I am supposed to buy one watch a year, this would put me at 3 watches in 13 months. The core of my collection is now complete as I really wanted a chrono but did not have one. Stock photo of the variant I got, will do wrist shot when I can pick it up. Hoping to bring it home before the end of the year.
