  3. Table updated. Please do double check and let me know if I have made mistakes. I will tally up the final board counts and get quotes from the fab house. I will then update the table with board costs and the total due for each participant and start collecting payments. I will place the order when all payments are collected. Please note the payment will include boards cost and shipping charge from the fab house to me (shipping evenly distributed to each board) but will not include shipping charge from me to you. The following participants are dropped from this GB due to no response: Marc Edwards stickyjon23 zumac99

  4. Ripped the floors and shower out of our rental property. Installed the new floors. Will do the grout and fixtures on the shower tomorrow along with base boards. Next weekend new kitchen, bath room cabinets and counters. Only thing we aren't redoing is the garage. Although I did put new gutters on that. Paint etc still needs work next weekend too.

  5. Also, check to see if your front end tubes are reasonably matched. If the 2 5K pots are centered (ones you use to balance the driver tube plate voltages) and the driver tube plate voltages of the two sections are more than 10V off then I would consider the tube does not have well matched triode sections. You can center the 5K pots without removing them from the PCB.

  7. A few things: Offset and balance voltage will settle as the amp warms up. Are these voltage measure when the amp was cold or warm? IME, high DC offset usually caused by poorly matched tubes. Swap the 6SN7 tubes between channels. If the high offset follows the tube, replace with better matched tube(s).

  8. I actually lugged the 5050 downstairs yesterday. It's no longer in its rack enclosure. Also, rack rails are sharp AF. Ow. Unsure what I'm going to do with it. Right now it's on the floor, in easy toe bash reach. I am once again astounded what an absolute unite this thing is. Also, TI(re)L: the 5050 only speaks XLR. No namby pamby RCA here. Since I'm stuck inside for the foreseeable future, I'm gonna dig up some XLR cables, see if I have a reel of tape (I swear there's some Ampex upstairs somewhere) and see if I can make it go. Yo dawg... Even in an apocalypse New Englanders won’t eat Manhattan Clam Chowder. The walking dead poster VS the actual Atlanta highway yesterday. Prescott AZ. Blue Planet Corporation's studio.

  9. Season 3 of The Sinner. As usual, this show has my stomach tied in knots! And even though Pullman could use a little restraint in his portrayal of the anguished police detective, this is probably my fav show right now. I do miss seeing Carie Coon and that spooky lookin kid from season 2 though.

  11. Season of Storms by Andrzej Sapkowski The translations have been slow coming out, but now that the 5-book series is done, this latest novel (set between the short story collections and the series) was finally released. It's a great adventure – glad to see he hasn't lost his knack for storytelling. There was a 14-year gap between the publication of the last book in the series (1999) and this one (2013, English translation: 2018).

  13. Hey Knucks, I've worked on a few 5050's and they usually don't take very much work to get running pretty well. You might want to check out some of the threads on the Tape Project forum (particularly the Guides above the General Forum) although a lot of the links are broken these days. https://forum.tapeproject.com/ Feel free to PM me with any questions.

  17. If you're isolated by choice or by mandate, you might be in search of a low latency, high quality way to collaborate, or mix/master remotely, this is the best I've heard of (so far). BTW, Ian Sheppard has been a trusted online audio pro for years (I took his online mastering course a while back) and his Production Advice site has a wealth of (non hyped) info. Edit- Don't expect to be able to "jam live" over the internet. There is too much latency for that IMHO.
