  1. Here is a T2 on original DIY T2 board with all modern components. High voltages decreased by 100 V to satisfy fjpf2145 and ksa1156. Batteries are on small daughter boards. There is annoying hum on left channel. Right channel is silent so hopefully it’s possible to get rid of the hum.

  4. OK I have to change my mind on Roon. I spent the morning reinstalling my Roon Core and now it all works flawlessly. Since both Roon as well as my infrastructure has changed significantly since the last time I used it I do not know what caused this improvement, but I am happy. Seamless integration of my collection as well as Tidal and Qobuz and easy switching of where I want it to play. I now see its popularity.

  5. Now I’ve tried them. KSC1008, put them in like this, one from component side and the other from solder side. Save you a lot of money. J112, changed 22K resistor to 13.7K then able to adjust to 6.55V. Doesn’t save you so much money.

  6. The sad demise of Florian Schneider prompted me to listen to the astonishing 22 minute version of Autobahn - for the first time in decades. They were so superb - there was nothing to compare to their electronic minimalist, almost Philip Glass musical style - in the early 70's. RIP Schneider.

  7. She was ridiculously hot. One of my cousins is involved with producing this band in South Africa. They sing mainly in Afrikaans, but they got the spirit I think? Dronk op Liefde means Drunk on Love.

  8. Hi. I have a very, very, very annoying teen gamer who is JUST SO INCREDIBLY FUCKING LOUD on his headset. It's driving everyone else in the house crazy. My sense is he's not hearing his own outgoing hooting and screeching over the game sounds -- how do I boost his voice level in the headphones so he gets better volume feedback and I don't have to FUCKING KILL HIM? Please.

  9. Got good news from PCBnet - they will remanufacture the PSU main boards to the spec'ed 2mm thickness. Expect to be shipped next week. PCBnet has truly been a top notch company to do business with. Their product quality and customer service have both been excellent!

  11. Not only own - built from first priniciples. The bridge and baffle are traditional hammer veneered using hide glue, and then French Polished. The dark wood around the forward tweeter and the baffle support is Cocobolo, and the bridge feet are Goncalo Alves. The bass unit is spray painted satin back, and then coated in buffed in wax polish. I was going to just paint the whole thing black, but Mrs S said she'd like wood finish - so I used that as an excuse to learn traditional veneering and French polishing.

  12. The ease of use is great indeed, Jim! I have a core setup on NUC's in my home and in my Maine condo. It's easy to switch the license back and forth, so I can enjoy that anywhere. I have 5 end-points at home, and (when set back up, if I can ever get there) 2 in Maine. Only use TIDAL and local libraries for now, may give Qobuz a try, and if Roon integrates with the Amazon service, we'll see about that.....

  13. They don't appear to have reviewed much, if any of Traeger's lineup since its introduction in 2019.

  14. Shelly & Nate, you might want to head over to amazing ribs.com & check out their reviews. When I was looking they were my most reliable source. Shelly, they like the FireBoard FBX11 & give it high marks Nate, I didn't see your grill listed. You can take a 30 day trial membership and search the site and look in the forums. Lots of useful info and recipes.

  15. I've been doing quite a bit of research on this and am leaning way more towards a pellet grill/smoker - current leading candidate is the Traeger Ironwood 650. Seems to have a couple of features that are worth paying for over the Pro series.

It's been a couple of years so I may not be current, but I like the blazngrillworks Al suggested or the Flame boss 400 https://www.bbqguys.com/flame-boss/400-wifi-smoker-controller-w-universal-adapter-kit-fb400-u?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=1757301804&utm_content=341652417329&utm_term=3061103&species=shopping-ad-smart&campaignid=1757301804&adgroupid=67470556263&creative=341652417329&targetid=pla-793059537741&network=u&device=c&adtype=&productchannel=online&productid=3061103&productpartitionid=793059537741&gclid=CjwKCAjw4871BRAjEiwAbxXi2zp46o5NoaAY_yD6y-zQSpDSrxkYDUtXQ3fZ4qhnKYl-70268dhHvhoC-dIQAvD_BwE

  20. If it's a non-usb headset you'll wanna look for something like this to adjust the microphone playback volume in whatever software pops up when the headset gets plugged in, make sure it's unmuted and turned up. USB headsets are kinda case by case I think... I've never used one.

  22. Yes! My biggest familiarity with woodworking is through luthier friends, I have a bud that makes cellos and another that is an accomplished guitar maker. The guitar guy uses hide glue construction exclusively, and typically his solid tops and backs are perfectly bookmatched to ensure that nice consistent look. Cheers!

  25. I'd say if you liked, and followed, season 1, then the second is a natural extension & worth your watch. S2 had some amazingly beautiful episodes (the one's that centered on Shogun World & the native American Ghost World, come to mind), culminating in a finale that provides a satisfying payoff for your efforts, imo. I just finished season 3, and I can't recommend it to anyone, sadly...

  28. I am lazy and like easy solutions, so pellets are the only way to go for me. I've been using the same Traeger I bought many MOAs ago but replaced the PID for a much better one after going to Naaman's in Austin. So much more control of the temp, especially for low and slow smokes.

  29. If you're only going to smoke then a smoker or pellet grill are probably your best choices. I am a fan of pellet grills and use mine constantly, but use it for both grilling and smoking. My daughter's fiancé has a smoker and loves what ever he has. For your needs that may be the better option, and I know very little about a smoker. I have done briskets and ribs on the pellet smoker. I have had to refill the hopper when doing a brisket once after about 12 hours. So the deal with pellet smokers is they all work fine and all do the same thing. Things to look for once you determine the size is the PID (temperature controller) and hopper size. Once you dial in your temp you literally set it and forget it until done. If you get one then you have the fun of trying different pellets until you find what you like best and what works best in your smoker. Can also fine tune flavors like hickory, apple, jack daniels & etc. My gateway drug was a green mountain grill daniel boone. I liked the PID on it better than the Traeger at the time. Bargain basement purchase in the land of smokers but made many briskets on it. Then I went the opposite direction when I got one for the primary residence and got a Memphis. All stainless steel, top of the line PID. Not as nice as Stretch's but very nice indeed. The other top end model I looked at was MAC.
