  1. Far too hung over for the dirt bike, so taking the car over the pass to Tahoe seemed like a great way to kill time. The whole mask thing didn't seem too popular up at incline village. I was really surprised.

  2. We got up to our place in Maine, is good to be away from the same walls. Took a ride into Kennebunkport, and was pretty disappointed to see most people NOT wearing masks either, despite signs all over the place with guidelines saying to do so. Karen would step FAR away from people if we passed them, I think some got the idea but didn't give a shit. But we did get to see some good ocean views, and got some decent food for tomorrow's lunch. We'll order and do curbside tonight. I'll be back home tomorrow but Karen will likely stay one more night. Good for her soul! Pic from Cape Porpoise.....

  3. This whole thing is just odd - less than 24 hours after getting a call from FedEx to inform me that the "shipper" in Taiwan had sent FedEx the wrong item to ship and the correct item has not been shipped and I should contact the shipper directly, the boards showed up yesterday (I know that PCBnet has some of their boards fabricated in their Taiwan facility). As expected, these 2mm boards look and feel great! Going to start packaging boards for shipment and I should receive the GRHVxxxx bare boards next week.

  4. Nice deal. Might have jumped on that but Shelly gave up her extra M51. Don't know if it will replace the Opus 21 or not. Listen to Raising Sand last night on the Opus. OMG.

  5. According to MacRumours one shouldn't buy a new iMac now since it's due to replacement soon. However looking at the update times once the 380 days barrier is passed, next update may take as long as 6xx days. We're now at 43x days since last update. Do you have any information that could be useful to a prospective iMac buyer? I'm not in a hurry but waiting for the new iMac to be released for another year might be a bit too long.

  7. i've learned that the moment you think about stepping back is exactly when you should go further in... in seriousness for the last 5-6 years all i've seen is prices going up and previous avenues to purchase select bottles has dwindled to almost nothing. this industry swell has yet to make anything cheaper nor easier to access in the US since the early 2000's (or really with the end of eBay sales later on). every time i manage a successful import i wonder if it's the last time.

  8. It is also likely a matter of perspective. Maine has less than 2000 reported cases and 75 deaths, whereas MasNoNoNoNoNoNosetts has 90,000 cases and over 6000 deaths. edit: I forgot about the anti-s@chu autocorrect

  9. Yeah, people suck at this social distancing. You can't positive think your way out of a virus. Glad you got some air and an unplug, though.

  11. Happy Birthday, Brent! Maybe for all our sakes you should stick to pandemic appropriate substitutes for the moment.

  12. the unbal to bal part of the board had a problem with the current source, this was discussed over at diyaudio on the negative current source the 10k resistor went to the emitter. it needs to go to the base. first picture is the fix, second picture was the original with the error.

  16. Behringer's been making fantastic products for years. And a mini Moog for $250 is a no brainer. I bought one of the first batch, it's a blast. Certainly Behringer is more reliable than Mackie or Arturia these days.

  17. Warning!!! I’ve tested sot 23 even a 500V/0.5W piece. Three times it started OK, but after some time (several power ON/OFF and hours) without a warning one of Q30/31 has popped and corresponding resistor totally destroyed. Furthermore two ksc2690 (k216 eq.), one fjpf2145 (c3675) blown and damages to PSU. If you don’t know what you are doing (I obviously haven’t a clue) don’t change Q30/31. Let them be 2sc3675 (or fjpf2145 - I used it for more then six years now).

  18. American Experience got around to doing their retrospective on the GW Bush presidency, and it is excellent. Harsh but fair. I enjoyed it very much. Knowing what we know now I think there is no way in hell he should have been given a 2nd term, but, having had one, did a much better job leading the nation from 2005-2008 than he did from 2001-2004. What a fucking awful mistake to go into Iraq though. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/george-w-bush/
