I would be very skeptical of any FR graphs for the 007's, they are next to impossible to measure correctly. Ohh and that conclusion is completely false... I did order up a new 007A which should be here soon. Let's see if Stax changed anything.4 points

BTW, I forgot to mention my cheif ergonomics engineer, that layed out the design much better than I would have. Thanks Professor Milo!3 points

i appreciate the commentary. i’m not commercial yet, but I’m about to take the next step. Once I’m comfortable with the new roaster i haven’t ordered yet I’ll be able to do about 20 lbs a week for sale.3 points

In case anyone else's mind recently went from Gilligan's Island's sexuality to The Addams Family, you may enjoy the below historical ping-pong of the two monster families. I thought one was a copycat of the other, but it's more complicated. https://decider.com/2019/10/14/addams-family-vs-the-munsters-which-came-first/2 points

Yeah, I was not sure about the weight or maintenance of a cast iron top, but the collection of obese men with canes that work at Rockler said it was the best. They did have the Saw Stop Professional 1.75hp table in stock, but only with 52” so a bit big for my space. I also almost picked up a Jet Bench Top drill press since they have 15% at the moment and it seems to be small enough to work where I want it.2 points

The lift is great. Al has one, too. It's made by JessEm but with a few small changes for Incra. I have the rockler cast iron table (the one that works as a table saw wing - not sure if they have another in a more standard size). I think it is fine but not ideal. I bought it so I could use magnetic hold downs and such, but it turns out that the lift plates are aluminum, so the area where a magnet will be helpful is too far from the router. Cast iron is also useful for vibration dampening, but routers are pretty vibration free, so it is not that big of an issue. Where the cast iron was useful was using it as a table saw wing, but I have subsequently removed it from the saw as I found the setup didn't work for me. On the downside, the bottom of a cast iron top is not smooth which makes attaching clamps a pain. It also makes attaching a fence difficult. Additionally, rockler lift plates are their own size which means that your lift will have to fit it (incra obviously makes one that does) and you will be stuck with rockler if you ever want to change the table, get a new lift, etc. That may or may not influence what fence you can get. My top came with the "benchdog" fence which is functional but not my favorite. I've looked at the other brands of fences, but it's not clear that they will fit any better.2 points

it’s not clear if our good friend @grawk has actually started his roasting service but when i received this today it sure felt on-par with any current roaster i use (and i have used quite a few in 2020)... starting with the Brazil. this is a clean, clean cup on the v60, lesser acidity (above room temp) in favor of nutty and spicy and tea-like attributes. i find this stupidly drinkable.2 points

My opinion of the Festool stuff is they are excellent tools, but designed for little European craftsmen named things like Lars, Otto, Klaus, and Gunter. If you have the space large dedicated tools will always be easier to work with. That table/fence look pretty good, I would just verify you can put stops on that t-track. As for the lift Incra stuff is solid. I don't have much use with it but the Saw-stop I have seems pretty bullet proof.1 point

This second season of the limited series is about the Atlanta Olympic bombing and Richard Jewell. And while it pretty much mirrors the movie as far as Jewell is concerned, it's a much more in depth assessment of the events. It's prime focus is on the real bomber, who eluded justice for several years. It also casts one of my favorite actors from Boardwalk Empire, along with a quite good role from Judith Light ( and she didn't even cry in this one ). Recommended ( what else do you have to do anyway )?1 point

Thought it was pretty good too! Lots of interesting details from the bombing/DEA standpoint (I couldn't help but think about that after the news from Nashville). Oh yeah,.. Judith Light! I couldn't place her but now that you do,.. duh!1 point

Could be a fun project. I could build a beautiful chair, but could I build a comfortable chair? And at heart I'm kind of a LA Z BOY.1 point

When are you going to build your listening chair so you can actually try this system out?1 point

my tube filament 6.3VAC supply was grounded with two resistors, (but too low of a resistance, only about 150ohms each) I did this to create a virtual center tap to avoid some annoying tube buzz I was getting from the beginning, it solved the buzz but I guess this added circuit also created a voltage potential that exceeded the el34 cathode to filament maximum voltage ratings and would time to time short circuit v- to gnd (arc in the tube) and pulled too much current in those moments that fried one of the KSA1220A transistors randomly. thank God I had fuses between my amp and DC power supply which probably saved my power supply every time. so with all this in mind, you got to wire the Filament correctly as Kevin has pointed out to avoid creating such a potential in the tubes.1 point

for people building their own bh, one side of the filsment winding has to be connected to v-, not ground. also applies to all other tube output stax amp.1 point

Agreed. Fantastic mini-series. Hawke's performance had light & shade I'd never seen from him before. That scene of Brown & Onion in the jail cell: “Whatever you are, Onion, be it in full. You were made by your maker, and he loves you. And I love you, too. I don’t care what clothes you wear any more than I do the size of your shoes.” "The Good Lord Bird doesn't fly in a flock. The voice of our spirit is gentle. Sometimes you have to fly alone to hear it" Whew!!!1 point

In order to take my mind off of SARS-COV2 I analyzed 50 years of radiocesium body burdens from over 40000 white-tailed deer from the SRS. It worked.0 points
