  4. Deadwood What an absolute joy this show has been. I missed it back in the day, but going through it now on HBO Max over the past two months has been delightful. I fell in love with the amazing cast of characters and the setting. Al Swearengen is the fucking man. I'm really going to miss watching it now that it is all over. The movie, coming 10 years later, was also a beautiful send-off and love letter to fans of the show. Recommended without qualification!

  9. I also made a batch of black eyed peas last night. With big chunks of ham and collard greens. Yummy! Sorry, no pics.

  10. When neighbors give you Lemons, Make Lemon Curd. It goes well with mascarpone (in the absence of ricotta) on Crumpets. For Breakfast. And with Afternoon Tea.

  18. I'm back at it and figured I'd try to show you what I do. The "snake" is about 2/3's full of standard pellets (no prep) and then topped with mesquite chips. I took out the trusty torch and lit the chip/pellet mix for about 30-45 seconds until an open flame persisted. Then I simply blew out the flame which left a nice slow-burning smolder. I find that one leg of the snake burning like this will last for ~3 hours which is plenty. About an hour and a half in and things are coming along nicely projecting for a late dinner after kids finish basketball practice.

  22. I would be very skeptical of any FR graphs for the 007's, they are next to impossible to measure correctly. Ohh and that conclusion is completely false... I did order up a new 007A which should be here soon. Let's see if Stax changed anything.

  24. My mistake, there are no output capacitors, but series resistors should be placed with output that is coming from those big red resistors. For each channel two resistors are needed, just like on this example schematic, where I marked them. If you are not familiar with electronics it should be easy to do for any DIY guy around you.

  28. Sorry for the oversharing, not looking for sympathy, but stop reading if "Dusty oversharing" might offend you. I started the year by puking my guts out. I think it was food poisoning, but I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary -- just my usual goulash, black bean noodles, wine. Earlier I had a turkey, jalapeno, plant-based-cheese, and bread sandwich, with a couple Grillo's Pickles spears -- all things I've had before. I think it was the wine, but it didn't taste off. That should speak to how bad my palate is. So I had some bread, rice noodles and tea yesterday, and I'm feeling ~91% better, going to continue to take it easy today. Might go out and get some saltines. And just for the record, I did take my temperature, and did not have a fever, so I doubt it's The Covid.
