Bolted a slightly different one of these (than I just sold) together 😅 I need to revise my little autoswitcher board to make sure the negative input is grounded when the RCA is input is chosen - a difference between the two boards. Also, interesting way to hide the front panel screws, note the two small set screws I just measured them and they perform as stated. Will try and listen to them this weekend and then back on the bench to get the inputswitcher working...6 points

The "SRX Plus" is what Jim (JimL) named the circuit he modified based on the SRX schematic which I believe Stax released to the public decades ago. The modification, among other things, adds CCS to some critical positions which significantly improves on the performance of the original circuit. I don't believe Stax ever produce an amp based on the SRX circuit. I built one and I love it!5 points

Have you seen my hands? It's nice that you keep all the woodworking tools in one area. That'll make it easier for me to back a U-Haul truck and load it up quickly, when you move onto a new hobby in a few months.3 points

The Gerbers for my T2 build. My T2 has been working without issues for some months now with heavy usage almost every day so I feel reasonably confident about posting the gerbers I used. (see my previous build posts for more details and photos.). full credit goes to Kevin for the original design and joamat et al. for the modifications to modern components. I simply hacked up the gerbers to fit my build style. The amp gerbers are slight modifications of Joamats mostly modern T2 (his build uses all available components except for 4 of 2sj79 and 8 of 2sk216). My modifications include the3 points

I think there are enough of us with turntables to warrant a specific vinyl thread. After all it's not the same as streaming digital. Shirley Bassey: Good, Bad but Beautiful1 point

Another one from Tommy. "My wife tells me one day 'I think you love baseball more than me.' I say 'Well, I guess that's true, but hey, I love you more than football or hockey.'"1 point

Just a generic clip-on desk light from The Evil Empire. I did not realize when I purchased it that it is touch sensitive to turn on and cycle through the brightness settings, which is really handy. I modified it to be able to work with my slab platform as the clip that it has does not open wide enough (Joke setup was unintended).1 point

Not someone I personally like but he was a big figure in baseball and a hated figure in my house full of Giants fans. RIP Tommy. The Dodgers suck!1 point

RTJ hands fixed Honestly, I'm pretty psyched with how these came out and they were a great test bed for figuring out how to accurately combine/sequence engraving and cutting. Now for a light sanding and finishing and then delivery to their owner.1 point

So here's a progress update on my T2 mini build. I started off with the a golden reference version of the T2 supply. Had a couple of issues. There was some 60Hz noise I was hearing (I'm guessing from the integration of the negative rail supplies), which I can probably solve for. Also, the current limiting, which works, wasn't fast enough when there was a shorting issue with the amp on the negative rail (FETs in the output section shorted to the heat sinks). It would pretty much blow out several components in the supply. I decided to go back to the original design, but as a shrunk1 point

Got the boards back and finished stuffing most of it. Here's some pics (forgive the phone pics and bad lighting).1 point

This one hurts, though he’s discussed this day often. Michael Apted, 1941-2021, ‘visionary’ director of Up series dies. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/jan/09/michael-apted-1941-2021-tributes-paid-to-visionary-director-of-up-series?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other0 points

I never thought I'd post in this thread, but climate change changes things. It's been snowing for 3 days and temperatures are rather low, so we have Madrid, an absolutely unprepared city, covered by snow layer of about 3ft. The problems are that they don't have the machines to remove the snow from the main roads, streets and avenues, nor can spread salt to avoid ice formation. I'm expecting absolute caos and confinement for about 2 weeks considering the temperatures forecast for the next week, most days below 0ºC (32ºF). I'm fearing food shortage.
