  2. Yes, for sure. He sure was a nice old guy, so sincere. He told me that he didn't have much money and lived a very simple life. The cost of his season ticket was significant to him, but when the Astros organization got wind of this and offered him a free season ticket since he had become such a legend there, he declined. He said he should have to pay just like anyone else. A man of integrity.

  3. You'd be hard pressed to find an interface that isn't amazing for the price these days. I've used MOTU and Focusrite Red gear and they're both great. The differences will be in the features but that could make a big difference for your applications. IMHO, it's worth asking a sales guy at Sweetwater their thoughts on what you're planning to do. Matching the built in mic preamp with the mics you're likely to use (there may be deals on mic/interface combos too). You should mention which keyboard you plan to use. Ask about EDU discounts!!!! Eligibility differs from company to company but a sales guy will be able to steer you. When I was taking classes in Calif., it was worth it to pay for one online course for the EDU discounts I got on software/hardware. IIRC, one year I saved over $2k and I also got a tax break at the end of the year!

  6. Man....RIP Hank, what a legend! And since they include the Negro League stats now, his 715 wasn't even the record, it was 760 when all was done!

  9. I think the only downside for your use case is two inputs. I’ve often felt mine lacking because I would want a stereo analog input for my keyboard, a mic input, and a stereo send return for outboard pedals. But then you mentioned MIDI, so you’re probably fine.

  11. I don't know much about interfaces, but the 2i2 seems to be highly regarded by home studio-type people. I believe the 4i4 has midi i/o, for not a lot more money.

  24. Thank you, grawk, for your kind reply. This makes "my world" right and perfect again 🙂 Because today, I was a bit shocked about the rude reactions and posts without answers but only playing jokes on me although I did not have had anything bad in mind. I am a novice with too little knowledge on this forum. However, I had read already many articles and posts on headphones, amplifiers, Stax and other audio stuff at head-case before, so I thought it was a forum like head-fi. So, it was only a misunderstanding by me. I also always enjoyed the interesting posts and verdicts of Birgir (spritzer), as he knows so much on the amp electronics and digs deep into the technology (e.g. taking apart even the headphone drivers for quality inspection), So due to all this, I really thought I could get some advice on headphones here at head-case. In the meantime, I found your welcome post where it is written what head-case is about and that the idea behind it is quite different to standard forums. And I also read that one should first look around and not start to post right in the beginning. So, that was my fault, I just did not know about the idea behind the head-case community. But your kind last post repaired my confidence to this community, which first seemed to be damaged when my thread suddenly was blocked and closed. All my remarks were meant to be interpreted with a "grain of salt", i.e. with the same fun and irony (with 😉 ) as it came from the others, too. And as is written in your haed-case rules/welcome letter: "[...] We are sometimes quite rude, often irreverant, and regularly abusive. [...]" i.e. understanding humor 🙂

  31. Man, did I sleep like a baby last night. I slept IN as well, which felt wonderful. I woke up to NPR playing Garth Brooks, which was kind of weird. He doesn't strike me as public radio's normal fare. All day everyone has seemed to be in a good mood, and I can't figure out why. It's like the whole nation got a good night's sleep as well. Funny thing, that.

  32. I have been looking for a new GPU for a month (I´m thinking in a 2080TI or 3080). After seeing new and pre-owned prices and Nvidia's lack of new stock I realized that I should have invested my savings in graphic cards.... 🥵 I think I'll keep my current 1070 for a while.

  33. It's a niche product for sure, but even the Fuji cameras are niche products at this point, when people are using their phones, drones, or GoPro to create a lot of the content I'm enjoying. The review mentioned a learning curve and using the Quattro as a second camera, which sounds like a bit more investment than a casual photographer would tolerate. I was "gifted" a Nikon D70 (with NIKKOR 18-70mm 1:3.5-4.5G ED) that I haven't tried out yet, and I'd feel bad if I didn't make an attempt at learning its ins and outs. There is also a local place that still processes (the last time I checked) APS film and I've got to finish off those rolls of film as soon as possible. It's a good problem to have. P.S. I was searching for the Lytro camera but found this oddball product first: https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/4/10/17218758/light-l16-review-camera-photos which may be reaching the end of the line: https://www.dpreview.com/news/3781485434/l16-camera-manufacturer-light-abandons-consumer-imaging-turns-to-automotive I still think the Lytro is an awesome idea, just not for the selfie market...
