Test fit of the bedside hardwood box for Kasia. Still need to sand, chisel for the hinges and route out some edges on the outer mahogany pieces and a finger groove on the lid and then nail it together and then seal. Birthday is tomorrow, so I am glad I got her other gifts also as this one is going to be late. just stacked up in the picture the lid and front panel will match up when I actually nail it all together.8 points

By the way, i got to see the Jet and Laguna bandsaws side by side today. Definitely prefer the looks of the Laguna so might end up with one of those and their wheel system.2 points

The pot you currently have in the amp is an Alpha (or Sung Huei) RK2142G (datasheet attached). The 4th pin is a loudness tap. So basically, transfer the existing wires straight across to the TKD replacement. Watch the heat on this; try to make good mechanical connections and don't linger with the soldering iron. Looking at your first pic (the TKD), the pins in order from left to right would be ground, wiper, and input, or 1, 2 and 3 corresponding to the attached RK2142G datasheet. The Alpha pots aren't bad at all, particularly for the price, but not in the same class as the TKD. BTW, where did you obtain the TKD from? RK2142G.pdf1 point

You seem to forget that the important stuff is where the speech stands (500Hz to 2KHz) and that the brain is an incredible machine of filling gaps. If you provide your brain with an as accurate as possible information in the critical band, it'd make a better job "inventing" what it knows is there but now can't perceive. It's not its fault, it's our damn cochleas.1 point

For what it's worth, I don't know how Maher, relatively benign faults though he has (though liked or disliked), remotely ranks on the danger/batshit crazy areas Weinstein and Heying often hit, especially outside their specialities (though I guess their specialities since Evergreen have been what?..."free speech", "identity politics", "gender", "popular culture", and everything else?) Maybe they're mutating though as this is the first time I've seen them go three minutes straight without spiraling out to kookyland, as you mentioned. They really are smart Jordan Petersons and that's not a compliment. But yeah, Maher sounds especially out of his element here. Not sure from the info, if this episode was caused by a few recent popular articles, but here's one - https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/coronavirus-lab-escape-theory.html1 point

Use spades for the Moths and for the amp side of the REL. I have never been a huge fan of banana connectors, though I have used them at times.1 point

Thankfully the do not show any snow in NH on that map so I am going to assume that I get nothing. Oh wait, my phone just alerted me to a winter storm warning... 🤦🏻♂️1 point

My incoming Hammer N4400 bandsaw has a 3.5 HP motor, 16.5" rip capacity, 12.25" resaw height, and ceramic guides top and bottom. Arrives next month.1 point

The Hammer resaw height is a little small, but this one seems to match up nicely. Time to check out YouTube shills. https://shopscm.us/collections/featured-sales/products/formula-s-440p1 point
