  1. Got to try Doug’s fancy drawer building joints and the micro adjuster from Jessem. Pretty easy way to put them together on the router table. Definitely easier than switching out blades and brakes on the SawStop.

  4. No, I didn’t hack anything. I made small pcb 8mm x 10mm with my CNC router. Maybe the USB microscope picture fooled you a bit, but the piece on the right is the small PCB I milled with a 2sc3324 and three leads from a power resistor.

  5. I like it. If we can bring back outdoor BBQing again that would make perfect background music especially for the European visitors. They already think for some odd reason that I host strange BBQ events.

  9. Ok brain, riddle me this. When you grab a stainless steel pan straight out of the oven with a bare hand, what happens? What's that? You don't know? Ok, go right ahead. Now that I won't be playing games for a few days, I can reveal that I've been playing Deep Rock Galactic quite a bit with friends (and solo) and for the coop shooter crew it is definitely a game to check out. I haven't really played Killing Floor or Left for Dead or anything like this so I can't compare it to other coop shooters, but the mechanics are solid and definitely feel inspired by some of the old arcady shooters I used to play, and the fully destructible terrain and very impressive procgen keeps the levels varied and interesting. I have a few hundred hours in it already and am looking forward to more, as soon as I can grab a mouse again. And no, I'm not playing Valheim. Maybe later sometime. Much prefer first person over third person games.

  11. The Fall - on Amazon Prime So Fiona Apple named her latest album after a line from this show. She is a pretty damn smart woman so I figured if she enjoyed the show it can't be that bad, right? Turns out Ms. Apple lead me down a good path! The Fall is a super-tense, deliberately paced police procedural set in Belfast. I finished the first series (season) and I'm hooked.

  16. Fun read today. Offering up for sports fans... "Fleming Field was the appropriately abysmal home of possibly the worst team in the history of paid play. They were called the Yonkers Hoot Owls, and their story is a lot like the movie “Major League” … albeit without the uplifting arc or happy ending. In amenities, in attendance and in the independent Northeast League’s standings, the Hoot Owls were dead last, then dead altogether. They lived for just a single, financially ruinous summer." https://www.mlb.com/news/featured/the-worst-baseball-team-ever

  17. Absolutely wonderful. This is a great complimentary read to those who have watched the show, or a wonderful journey for those who have not seen it yet. I'm really impressed by Tevis as a writer. Ender's Game is one of those books you give to precocious young people who might feel ashamed of being smart. Maybe it is time to re-think that default option and give them this classic instead. Best compliment I can give the book is I read it in a single day. It hooks you and won't let you go.

  18. ^Sigh...Jessica Walter was a formative crush after seeing "Play Misty For Me". Also, George Segal passed on the 23rd, age 87.
