  1. Watching now. Funny thing, one of the Mexican fencers who got a great camera shot on him in the opening ceremonies trained with Lance at the club and stayed with our friends during the summer training camp. Great guy very friendly and humble. And Katie Holmes the women's Epee fencer fencing now, fenced Lance at a camp a few years ago.

  2. .. because someone literally stole a car out of my driveway. Unfortunately for them, it had a tracker on it and we recovered it (the thief wasn’t inside) and now it’s the scene of a investigation of some sorts at an impound yard.

  6. Yeah - I know what you mean. The 3D drone show was bloody impressive though, as was the lighting of the flame. By comparison to the London 2012 ceremony is was very muted though. In normal times Japan would have put on a show to rival London though. Going on to cycling - the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz really excelled on a truly brutal multi-lap 145 mile course and won by over a minute. I was strangely pleased that Tadej Pogačar came in third, outsprinted by Wout van Aert. Pogačar, in the last two Tour de France won yellow, white and polka dot jerseys. Which I think is odd when he is only 22 now. Shows how brutal the course was, because the average speed was "only" 24mph.

  9. Not a TV show, but it’s what I’m watching: Jupiter, Saturn, and a full moon. Not as good as the great conjunction of 2020, but not bad. I watched the new Ted Lasso yesterday. Wonderful.

  11. Kevin retired from Northwestern Univ. (the .edu links) a few years ago, so those links are no longer valid. The Stax thread will provide google drive links to the board files and other documents. For a Dynalo, you will want +/-20V for the GRLV. There are BOMs for the GRLV posted in the thread. Sorry, but we don't provide build guides, etc. here. Going thru both the Dynalo and the Golden Reference LV threads should provide you with all you need to know. Build the GRLV first, and test it unloaded to make sure it is performing properly. Pretty easy build. And I would stay out of the and now for something completely different part 3" thread for now. The Dynalo is a very good amp. Not sure what phones you are intending this for, but the CFP 2/3 is a very good amp.

  12. Installed Hellwig front and rear sway bars on the Ram to make it suck a bit less and a Bedrug to protect all the gear I am moving around for shows as I have 8 more concerts and a talent show to fit in before it gets cold.

  18. This is what I used for the socket pins: https://www.ebay.com/itm/143522733990?hash=item216a9f1fa6:g:chUAAOSwga9eN~R4 They are intended for tube sockets but work very well for Stax sockets too.

  19. Here are the connectors disassembled. Pins are from Neutrik NC3FD-L-B-1. Take a metal saw and make a cut so you can bend up the outer metal housing. Then pins can be removed from inner housing. I would have prefer Teflon over 3D printed. I haven’t figured out how to mill it out though, but I managed to 3D print something usable.

  20. funny thing is, if I had to only have 1 type of coffee, I'd probably want it to be something I felt like continuously fiddling with. It'd at least keep it interesting.

  21. Started this project on 2018 I believe. Was a penny pincher because of budgets so cut a lot of corners. Ultimately this isn’t a project you’d want to cut corners. Finally went around finishing it this week because my area got into lockdown and I’m desperate to get myself preoccupied. Ordered some parts and went ahead to redo and finish it. Initially I built it in one case but the transformer was inducing noise into the board. With the whole PSU (including small 12v transformer for channel selector) rehoused in a separate chassis it’s silent. The amp is being powered by a single GRLV for now. PSU output devices are bolted to the chassis heatsink and only gets somewhat warm. The amp bottom right obviously has canted headphone/XLR outputs because I used a hand drill to make mounting holes and made a mistake with the angle. The dynahi makes a great sounding preamp too. One question I have is I got some C3881/A1349 to replace my noisy THAT340, and after storage for a year or so they got distorted. These were bought from a reputable seller in diyaudio. Anyone has any idea what happened?

  22. Yeah I was impressed that they took it from a one-note joke (American rah-rah vs. British cynicism) and fleshed it out into an involving narrative with a bunch of complex and sympathetic characters. Everyone in our family is totally into it, adults and teens alike.

  23. Agreed. Enjoyed and it got better as the season progressed (at least until I lost Apple+). I'm sure sports fans are aware of the series origins, but I didn't until YouTube suggested. From seven years ago... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRqypM7jb5Y
