  1. I refinished the top of this Tice Original the original finish hated HD800 headband material - in fact it destroyed multiple pairs and I had to really sand deep to get the gunk off, GooGone failed me. The new finish hopefully will fair better, it’s cooler in color now except for right on the edges where I couldn’t get all the finish off. Time to put this back into use!

  2. I got a tape of this album as a present for my birthday in 1984 right after it released and this is still one of my favorite soppy songs to this day. Also has the great Blasphemous Rumours. So I am listening to Some Great Reward.

  3. Anyone else give this a listen? Is it just me or is this a pretty uninspiring cover collection? I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico Ex. On to much better... Sufjan Stevens & Angelo De Augustine's A Beginner's Mind "The theme is philosophical musings on movies, ranging from Old Hollywood (All About Eve) to monster flicks (The Thing), horror (Hellraiser III, Night of the Living Dead), modern classics (She's Gotta Have It, Silence of the Lambs; the album is dedicated to director Jonathan Demme who died in 2017), even action (Point Break). Opener "Reach Out"—based on director Wim Wenders' fantasy Wings of Desire—is a mindbender: Is this sublime harmony and gentle guitar Simon & Garfunkel circa 1965? Then there’s the twee and wistful, almost medieval folk of “Olympus” whose chanted “There’s no place like home” chorus might make you think The Wizard of Oz but is, in fact, based on Clash of the Titans and focuses on the love story of Perseus and Andromeda..."

  4. The problems of modern man are immense in scope. Oh for the simple days of chasing down your food and avoiding being food. If we were to ever revert to those days, I'd want Brent as my wingman!

  6. I feel like these types of things are usually pretty terrible. I also find St. Vincent to be uninspiring regardless of the context.

  9. It's not felt but some woven material, might be similar to what Aumkar is using on the RR1's.

  10. Thanks, I just whipped it up real quick to make sure I understood how Fusion was going to machine a complex surface, and it would do what I expected. Didn’t want to ruin a $400 chunk of walnut on my first go.

  11. I have finally completed my "return to the hobby" stack, by finishing up a recasing and upgrade of my 13-year-old M3. The design itself is 16 years old now, and it still has the same compromises from way back then..... but with a modern OPAMP, easy to drive phones and reasonable execution, I still think it sounds bloody marvellous. Highlights are a HiFi2000 galaxy case, FPE panels, ADA4627-1B OPAMPs, TKD 2CP2511 pot, 2" sinks and 110 mA output stage bias, complete electrolytic re-cap with Panasonic FR and Nichicon UHE, S11 at 27V, magnetically shielded SumR transformer (30VA, 12+12V), Cree zero-rec Schottky diodes, and a deliciously gaudy volume knob (so shiny, I had to edit out and hide my own reflection!). Sitting between the R-2R DAC and Focal Clear as my office rig, I'm a very happy camper.

  14. I think you are right. I’ve used 2SK879 in one T2 battery since several years without any issues. From datasheet 2SK208 and 2SK879 look quite similar.
