  1. This morning I built a rustic Redwood table to go on the deck of my boss' new house. Next up, benches. Last week I built a similar table for his dining room.

  2. Ended up heading to Texas to pick up the Supermax as it was a bit too large of a project for my dad. Smaller than I expected, which is perfect and really no sign of wear at all. Got it all put back together after transport to the farm where it will live until I have time to drive the truck down to pick it up.

  4. Sorry to be a PF snob, but it's Syd. Funny thing though: I had a picture disc bootleg of him, called "Unforgotten Hero." But they spelled his name Sid..... 😣

  5. I used the C3M0350120D in both the Carbon and GRHV. On the bench I tested the amp boards separately and they worked fine along with the GRHV. In the final build with 2 amp boards connected there was oscillation which caused all sorts of odd voltages, namely 400V over the outputs and a GRHV + rail that read 8V. Funnily enough I could get the amp working with the capacitive load of a dvm killing the oscillation when probing over the GRHV outputs and I had music. I replaced everything back to C2M1000170D and all was stable. To be honest I haven’t done enough testing to know whether the GRHV with the C3M0350120D would be ok in the field or not. But hopefully you can gain some insight from my experience with it.

  6. That's good news! Listening to the last song on this albums makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. It's unnerving.

  12. Are you saying that it does not take you months to finish a project? Starting and finishing in one day seems impossible based upon my 4 months for bedside tables project experience.

  13. To be fair there is the advantage of creating a more seamless transition from computer screen to car windshield. If only there were virtual wipers that occasionally appeared.

  15. From above picture it looks like there are 12ax7 anode current sources and 330K anode resistors. You shouldn’t have both, should you?

  16. the finest setting is about as fine you would want to go on an aeropress, so finer than any pour over method would ever tolerate. it can't do espresso. that was also part of my justification to add a comandante which can go into espresso range.

  21. Well that was a result. We pay for a landline phone from Virgin Media. We have been paying £27 a month for a long time. I decided to look at alternatives, and Direct Save Telecom came up with £19.50. So I phoned Virgin Media, quoted the alternative prices to them - and with zero negotiation the slashed the charges by £10 to £17 a month. And because of where we are in the billing cycle, they will refund £9.60 and only charge us £7.40 for this month. No idea why I haven't done this years ago!

  22. So much progress with this refresh and then they go and put a fucking notch in a laptop display? I literally don't have words for that. How this is in any way, shape, or form better than a slightly larger top bezel is beyond me. My currently laptop has 5/16" bezels and they look plenty small to my eye and in no way objectionable and houses enough crap in the top section to support windows hello (or whatever they call it) pseudo facial recognition for log-in purposes.
