  1. Not today but yesterday I had two what I call “Real Men of Genius” moments. #1. Had leftover poutine and thought to myself, I bet that would make a hell of an omelette. Result was yes, indeed, it was delicious. #2. Had leftover smoked pulled pork. Decided nachos were required. It was a good day.

  2. If anybody was wondering just how small the Acaia Pyxis is, here it is on top of my new Lunar (the Pearl is huge and just for pour over, so not in the “competition:” I love my Pearl 2021, but nobody ever suggested it was made for portability). The Lunar would not be accused of being a large scale, by most people, I would think: the Pyxis is just that small.

  3. Long form, but a fantastic watch for anyone who had a modem in the late 80s or early 90s.

  6. Not myself, I'd already left for work. But I heard that Suzy fought off a racoon that wondered into the apartment. I've been leaving the door open for her, and it must have looked like a good place to look for food. The landlord heard her barking like crazy (she doesn't bark unless something seems wrong to her), came down to investigate just as Suzy was chasing the racoon out of the apartment. I guess I'll have to stop leaving the door open. No signs of scratches or bites on Suzy, says the landlord. She said Suzy calmed down quickly.

  11. most commercial grade coffee sucks balls and is the reason that milk and sugar are required by most people. I'm a bit intense about my coffee but home roasting takes 20 unsupervised minutes per week and it blows away store bought. Todd try Small Batch Craft-Roasted Coffee from Sweet Maria's! pricey but worth every penny.

  13. Sylvère Lotringer, who popularized French critical theory in the United States, helped inspire the Matrix movie series, hosted conferences for counterculture celebrities, lent his name to a character in an acclaimed novel and a television series based on it [I Love Dick], provoked rants on Fox News and founded an influential publishing house — all while trying to outrun memories of a childhood spent on the precipice of disaster [damn Nazis] — died on Nov. 8 at his home outside Ensenada, Mexico, in Baja California. 15. RIP the dead when an SUV ripped at speed into a Christmas parade in a small community in Wisconsin. At least five dead and 40-odd injured. He first hit schoolchildren and then a parade of dancing grannies. The police have the bastard in custody,
