  1. Thank you. Eventually I found it, among a lot of other stuff. A test board for the battery module. I probably did it in spring 2020. Left heat sink has FJPF2145 (org. T2 it's 2SC3675) and right has 10M90S current sink set to 5 mA. Just find +250V and -560V and you are ready to go.

  3. Bourbon Moth can be over the top but decent work. I like the whiskey table design. I also like King’s Fine Woodworking for actual learning and also Fisher’s Shop, Stumpy Nubs, Rob Cosman and Tamar. Put some Odie’s Oil on the 3D board so it is about as finished as it is going to get.

  4. Brings back memories of putting woodscrews through my Cannondale Red Shred mountain bike tires, back in the 80's. I'd pick screws that were about 1/2" long, then screw them through the knobs of the tires, then put in a protective liner, then the tube. Worked great, with the added bonus of texturing your slippery, icy walkways.

  5. VST in the house. This is a radically different basic geometry and build from the IMS (ignore the size difference; one is an 18/20 and one is an 18/22). Honestly, just looking at them… I have no idea.

  6. I just made a latte with the Breville that made me say “ooh,” so maybe I shouldn’t be in a hurry to spend money. The problem is that I had to pay attention, and if I’m going to do that I might as well use the Flair.

  7. @Pars: I used an M6, countersunk, to mount an AS-0518 on a Modushop Galaxy 388 base panel, which I believe is thinner than 3mm (supposedly 2mm). Also used FPE and FrontDesign. It turned out fine and looks plenty sturdy to me. I don't think the trafo will fall out.

  8. I did a lot of reading about the Silvia and took a hard look at it, ER. I think it would be a solid choice based on what I have seen. A serious community out there using and improving up on it. Should be fun. HS

  10. There are plenty of Kintsugi kits, lacquer, adhesives, etc on Amazon for that. I'd give it a try.

  11. Kintsugi: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kintsugi the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum; the method is similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

  12. I've been listening to a lot of great fusion lately. Easily my favourite discovery of the year are Fox Capture Plan. They have 2 2021 releases, and they're both top tier for me. Damn, I wish I could play jazz. This is from NEBULA(ネヴュラ): (Not sure why it's failing to embed -- the live event is long since past, yes, but I'm watching/listening to the YouTube video right now. The event was the video released timed to coincide with a meteor stream.) This is from Xronicle:

  14. Station Eleven The last thing I'd think would be worth watching would be a show about the fallout from another global pandemic. This one starts slow with lots of separate threads. The beauty is in how they all come together. There are some great moments. The cast is great. Lori Petty and David Cross as the mother and father of a stage troupe that circles a post-apocalypse Lake Michigan just works. Watching the show gives me some of the same feeling I get from reading a good book. I'm not surprised that the show-runner is a novelist. I'm excited to see what he will do next, and I think I'll be picking up one of Ms. St. John Mandel's books too.

  15. Very weird weather last night. It started out as snow, turned to rain, but cold enough to still be freezing with the wind chill, so it just sort turned into...? I don't know. I didn't step outside. Pure black ice weather. My bursitis was acting up just thinking about it.

  16. Dropped the tea cup I've been using for nearly 30 years. 😕 It was a nice big one, vs. the standard entirely-too-small sized ones. "The en" indeed.
