  1. I made brisket chili today so that dinner would be ready when I got home, I then decided that I wanted biscuits as a side.

  2. a pre turkey day new year teaser. sanken output transistors, in parallel. with appropriate switching power supplies, capable of about 25 amperes. can be built with 30v, 35v, 40v power supplies if you change out the pzta06/pzta56 with bf722/bf723 then you can go up to 60v supplies. with 40v supplies and big enough heatsinks, 100 watts rms into 8 ohms. lets see how much joamat can shrink this one. balanced output impedance, .5 ohm

  3. gerbers will be available after much more checking. lots and lots of editing was done. but if you really want to be first, i can arrange for gerbers to be delivered. you can do the checking before making boards. i got to hear a cfa3 driving vintage klipsch belle. stunning. also it was running stupid hot. so this will take care of all of that. should make all the raal owners real happy. (and deaf) (and fried diaphrams) connex switching power supplies recommended. a linear power supply would be very large and heavy.

  4. i'm trying hard not to get this to uberamp size there are wonderful t03p transistors that would be great but then the heatsink would be 8 inches high instead of 3.57

  6. OK, powered up and works great. 406Vdc, stable. Bias is 576-580 at bias TP (drifting up a bit). What is the max for pro bias?

  12. Arcade Fire last night in SF. Full house, the crowd was ready to party and the band showed up and brought the energy. Most fun show I’ve been to all year. If you like these guys, catch them on this tour!

  14. ^^ Sent me on a look for new music. I had not looked in a while because my queue is too full. But I found this new one: Live At The Bon Soir Barbra Streisand 2022 https://album.link/i/1644193183 Example: One of several that I could have posted from this album. I really enjoyed this mostly raw performance of show tunes and standards. Hard to think of this as a 20 years old Barbara, belting out songs and giggling in-between while talking with the band.

  15. pulled pork loin/tenderloin dry rub fell asleep (8 hours or so?) woke up, added tomato sauce, rocoto peppers, and (citrus?) flavoured balsamic vinegar went about my day (a couple hours) flipped everything went about my day (a couple hours) came back, and all the pork had dissolved -- I probably could have pulled them apart with a cheap, flacid, utensil I think it came out better'n any brisket I've ever made, too -- wasn't quite spicy or tangy enough, so... I ruined it -- added some beans, chipotle peppers, diced hot green chilies, now I need to add onions, garlic, and some more balsamic vinegar, maybe? or lime juice... Now (before onions) it's spicy enough but not tangy or sweet enough -- the onions will take care of the sweet, so maybe just some regular rice vinegar and call it done before I ruin it for real.

  16. Looks tasty! Myself, I decided to go out to eat this morning. Went to the local Barefoot Cafe for Black Cat Benedict (known as Blackstone Benedict most places). Eggs Benedict with bacon and sliced tomato. It was delicious, but looking across the street at the Hummingbird Cafe got me thinking, what about a Cajun Blackstone Benedict? English muffin, thick Applewood smoked bacon and hollandaise, but with a fried Green tomato? Hummingbird has a Cajun BLT with fried Green tomato that is amazing. I might have to see if Michelle will make it for me. I think it would be incredible.

  18. The ponywall cap and railing are White Oak and the round pickets are set directly into the floor, negating the need for a bottom plate. It makes for a really modern look IMO. The pickets will be painted the same White as all the trim. The brass bar hanging above the ponywall is actually a pot rack. I finished the railing to perfectly match the White Oak flooring. The two bi-fold doors on the far Left are factory made. The four other bi-fold doors are built by myself to match the other two. Someone screwed up and ordered doors that didn't fit, so to avoid a multi month re-order, I just built them.
