  1. We occasionally have sugar maple with tap holes around here. It looks similar, except the holes are larger.

  3. Started yesterday, was worthy to come back and finish today. Brahms: Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Herbert Blomstedt 2022 https://album.link/i/1620195158 Example: Herbert at 95 still doing his thing. This is not a grand, bombastic telling of the Brahms. It is a lovely more delicate interpretation. He pulled on different themes that I don't think I recognized in the past. Not that I am super familiar with the 3rd and 4th, but I really appreciated these recordings.

  7. @jp11801 started talking about this meet in a different thread about a different meet, but if we're going to make something happen then we need a proper meet thread. This could be an opportunity to get the old Travel Team together again! @shellylh claims to be making the trip and Claire and I are considering going too. Some locals like @bozebuttons and @Kerry -- MOT MOT MOT! -- will be there. Not sure if @Iron_Dreamer or @justin are working the show, and even if he's not promoting ECP Audio, @dsavitsk is not far away. So, who else feels like it is safe to come out and play again?

  11. Oh my. Jeff Beck is a true legend of the guitar and I believe the first to release a solo guitar album. The older I get the more I appreciate his style.

  16. Realize now I should have gone with less spalted maple and more hydraulic lifting table base in the drill press table. Heavy and awkward motherfucker. On an unrelated note, does anyone know the symptoms of a hernia?

  17. Jeff Beck dead at 78. RIP to the legend. And fuck bacterial meningitis! Yuck. My next oldest brother had a couple JB records I borrowed a lot before he went to college and then JB had a hot record There And Back with Jan Hammer when I was a senior in high school. I stupidly lost my paper ticket to see him on that tour and ended up seeing AC/DC the same night. That was fun and all, but my two buddies who saw JB constantly rubbed it in that it was the most amazing concert they ever saw, Yada Yada Yada. I finally saw JB live with JP# in Oakland and it was great even though not the same as 1980 would have been. We got very high and required large burgers in a sketchy neighborhood to sober up enough to drive home. Rock in Peace JB

  20. It's insane right now. Southern California has a tornado warning. I had to drive into town to get gas for our generator, and it was like an obstacle course with trees down, most of the town was without power and dark. Coming back up the mountain, a chunk of it came down on some cars. Good times. Tomorrow is another round.
