    I have a Nice 20" Craftsman D.P. I bought recently. So I'm drilling (butchering) a computer case presently and the tapered chuck spindle keeps dropping off! I cleaned it up real well and have seated it against a blcok of wood with some pressure. Fell out pretty easy. I retracted the chuck and pounded it in with a dead blow hammer. Didn't help. Then took a small masonry hammer and some wood and pounded the crap out of it I thought. Still fell out.

    What's the super secret way of wedging that gadget in there!

    Already have bowls. Traded in Series Is, because I'm an idiot. Rhydon told me to put some hours on them before making a judgement call. Meanwhile I am going to rebuild one of my old Saab engines and run it at 6000rpm for three weeks straight. Then when I still hate the Series IIs, I'll wipe my ass with a handful of Benjamins, then I'll throw the Magnums up for sale for some wacko Senn-loving bass head to pleasure themselves with.

    Jesus Christ! Have some patience!

    I suspect they will require between 15-20,000 hours to break-in. All the GOOD stuff needs that...

    Something that might be instructive is take your little finger and put in in your ear. Then open and close your mouth, completely closing your bite, and opening your mouth all the way. You can feel in your ear with your finger how much volume change is taking place.

    I have finally finished all 142 pages of this thread, and here are some random musings.

    1) half of the posts having nothing to do wihh JHA or IEMS

    2) of the remaining posts, at least a quarter involve monkey asking questions about the jh13, saying he wasn't going to get them but was simply curious.

    3) another quarter of on topic posts involve others telling monkey to just buy them already

    4) it was accurately predicted that Colin would win a set of JHA iems at can jam

    5) as mentioned before dusty predicted the jha3

    6) a lot of people apparently hate this thread

    7) people that ended up hating this thread ended up buying a set

    8) a good chunk of people did end up shipping them back for refits, with the right ear being the dominant issue by far

    That's about it.

    Some Observations:

    #1-3 Perhaps put them in a Pie Graph :cool:

    #4 and #5 -- Do you think the FIX was in?

    #6 Perhaps a Love-Hate relationship

    #7 These Forums are maybe a Marketing Tool?

    #8 Right Handed, Right Footed, Right Eyed, and now something with the Right ear, how bout that Chit! Are any of us in our Right Mind?

    Have you ever tried to source electrons?

    They can't be created or destroyed, that's a problem!

    You have to round them up when you need them, then there's the problem of what do you do with them when you are done...

    It's a wonder they are as cheap as they are.

    Thanks all. As I've never owned a JH custom, and to be honest wasn't blown away by the JH13 universals at a meet, this leap is because of the many positive reviews, by ears I trust, over the last year. And then doubled by the recent 3A early impressions. Anyway, I rest all thanks/blame at your feet. ;)

    And now the wait. When does the beginning of late summer start again?

    Hmmm, since JH is in FL, that could be January...

    I'd call that Late Summer here.
