  4. Ah nice b-day present. Looking forward to your impressions as I just placed my order last week. Mind if I ask how long they took?

  6. Dan, also not sure if I'll be in the city Saturday, but if not I'm in if you have a spot left. Plus I have a DAC to return.
  7. What kind of music does this Aristotle character produce? I only know Platos output. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TCq_ZBKamk YouTube - The Hidden Musical Code of Plato
  8. I love this graphic. Probably the clearest recent sign of progress (technically, but also social/psychologically) I've seen. Can't wait for 2020.
  9. Justin, that's a great idea I hadn't considered. Unfortunately, my only other customs, Livewire T1s, also has a fit/seal issue. Fought those less as they were prototypes and 1/7th the price. We recast twice then with the same result. So three casts by two audiologists (well not so sure the Livewire casts were done by a licensed doc - we twice met in a restaurant parking lot) for two IEMs have resulted in initial loose left sides. Maybe just something with my smallish ears? Maybe I'm a freak? To the JHA and recent audiologists credit, the JH13 fit was better than either Livewire though. Not sure how you increase IEMs one channel or decrease the other, but I hope it's a simple canal area extension or similar. As I've heard the same pair of JH13s in at least three different states now (original which I almost didn't fix, two painful, but balanced versions, and recent), I'm surprised there isn't more discrepancy in reviews. Maybe a great sign of the majoritys experiences with them.
  10. Thanks for the comments and suggestion (tried several tests including pressing both in or pulling slightly out). I doubt the last couple steps were due to the original impression, though it may have stopped the issues at first and corrected it if redone now. Some additional minor issues with the mods I haven't yet mentioned here, but I hope we're close enough a slight canal area increase or other change will correct the imbalance and we'll be done. Haven't given up yet (too much invested ) and although I don't have the trust those who've spoken to Jerry seem to have, they've had quick turn arounds and every time I've caught Brittney on the phone she's been quite helpful. I don't though have the optimism it takes to expect a return phone call from them (not their strong suite), so although I left a message today offering doing new impressions or answering any questions they may have to get more specific and target the problem, I also took the box to the FedEx shop with a now three page letter detailing the problem and each previous note. Fingers crossed. I liked what I heard in the last two steps, so still hopeful. Am more suspicious though how much of a SQ increase having the crossovers better handled (though additional 3A+JH16 order) when we're having such troubles dialing in balance/fit specifically for me.
  11. Ugh. JH13s came back today. Originally left side loose and slight imbalance to right. Next time left way too tight (could only last 3-4 songs before pain too much), but balance issue went away. Next a bit too tight (could make it an hour or so, but still painful) and no balance issue. Now fit good, but imbalance shift to right returns (and canal section different lengths). This is getting frustrating. Haven't had these much since I got them, not to mention the soon to be $100+ in shipping charges. Can't go through this again with JH3a+JH16 order. Considering canceling. BTW, what's the record for returns on these things?
  12. This whole time I thought you worked for The Shining Path.

  16. Hopefully results in a stronger narrative than Deadwood. Downloaded the torrent last night. Not sure if something this expensive, helmed by a major director, qualifies as a 'pilot,' but if so it seemed to do everything right. It's a great base to run. Now let's see how they focus on story. Not sure I've seen so many beautiful female characters in a TV show before (though they've not received much screen time yet). And the sets and compositions and edits were nearly perfect. Makes Mad Men appear a stylistic facade in comparison. Fingers crossed. Plus nice to see Omar again.

  18. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Really great starting point. One of these will likely work out. Maybe the CAL. Love especially the Stello, but afraid it's kinda outta my price range (as it's going to be in minority use status). Probably no CDJ because of aesthetic reasons.
  19. Size is getting to be important and looking for a small cheap CDP with digital outs. Coming to you all for help. Used fine. Haven't had luck finding much, but something along the lines of this would work. Otherwise seems to be more DVD players (though not always with displays) in this range. Basically going for a Squeezebox/Lavry/GS-1 rig so trying to keep width near or less than 10". And Dusty Approved Black. Anyone know of any CD models I should consider or DVD players usable with an external display? If only my DVD-2900 was about a quarter its size.

  21. x2 though most of my experience was pre-Creative ownership. Was sad to see them leave the West Coast. Stores were fun visits in pre-headphone days. Even after Creative bought their lines were always better than Creatives similar. Bet it sounds decent.
