  1. Probably one of Ritchie's more underrated movies, I love this one just as much as others. The soundtrack is a nice, eclectic mix of era-appropriate songs to match the storyline, along with new compositions by Daniel Pemberton that again match the era & storyline (such as the linked "The Vinciguerra Affair" cut).

The Bear (Hulu/FX). I don't know how this is going to hold up, but damn, is it a strong pilot.

Binged the first series this weekend. Great show. The entire cast is great & should be getting more hype beyond just JAW who just won a Golden Globe. Well-curated soundtrack too.

  3. The history of digital cameras over the last 20 or so years is littered with quirky designs that have both their detractors & proponents. Where you fall depends on your personal photographic needs, and perhaps a predilection for brave, quirky, unique designs (I resemble that remark ;)

Also, the roadmap for mass-produced products are often not based on the ideal technology for the end-consumer, but rather manufacturing-process benefits & cost-cutting for the companies themselves.

Regarding user-interfaces, its been written that the only truly naturally intuitive interface is the nipple. Everything else is learned, and preferences are based on some prior history. I find this to be mostly true.

  4. I applaud anyone who has such a burning desire to produce their art that they do not let lack of resources impede them from getting it out there. In such cases, limitations can produce surprising results, and even provide a unique look, or carve a niche.

But I have to wonder if these articles are seeking to create the very market trend that they pretend to report? I mean, a 7.1MP camera from 2007 is not that old & can produce some decent, if smallish, digital images. My personal take is that someone is taking advantage of the meteoric rise (very unscientifically determined on my part, btw ;)) of film cameras to figure how to similarly sell old digicams.

And really, once something makes the NYT, it is really edgy anymore?
