  1. Listening to my Thunderpants for the first time. They arrived from Don's this morning. While I don't want to post any real impressions until I've had some ample listening time logged, I will say that I'm amazed by the bass they reproduce. Tight, fast and accurate bass. What's truly impressive is that the rest of the spectrum is in no way overpowered by this incredible bass. Alison Krauss 'A Hundred Miles or More' is almost always the first CD I play when auditioning a new headphone. If a headphone can accurately reproduce her voice, and the strings of this album, then it will almost always become a favorite for me. Alison has never sounded better!
  2. I'm supposed to be working (which I am sort of), but I can't help myself from listening to my Thunderpants, which arrived from Don this morning. To say I'm impressed thus far would be a major understatement. A big shout out to my favorite circle hole cutter tech. for the cable too! At the very least you get first audition at CJ.
  3. I was about to comment on how far off topic we've managed to get, but then I realized we're talking about the ultimate source! From which we all spring.
  4. This one isn't bad either... YouTube - Take Care of Your Beaver! U Kotex Commercial

    sick of head-fi

I thought rule #2 was always verbalize a warning before ejaculating? Oops, sorry, wrong forum... never mind.
  6. Every time I see the word iPad, I have these uncontrollable visions of Steve Jobs running through a field of flowers in some '70s Kotex commercial.

    Audeze LCD-2

From what I hear from Don, most of you will be quite happy with them in stock form. And according to Don they're quite well balanced. I'm glad that CJ10 is so close, as this is one headphone I'd really like to hear sooner as opposed to later.

Pretty sure I'm still in for a pair, but I do plan to listen at CJ first. Heck I guess I could always sell Marc's Krell integrated that's sitting here.

Oh, duh! So I'm not the smartest, my job is just to look pretty.

Huh? I'm not following the joke, but assume you mean the TPs? If so, Don shipped them today. What's up?
  11. I'm confused, are we still talking about the 5 month old?

Understood. And I sure didn't mean to sound like I was aiming my negative comment your way. I'm all for posting what's out there and, letting us make up our minds about it. My comment was meant toward the original item. I guess I still believe in comedic boundaries, as I can certainly see how many would be greatly offended. That does spark a great debate though...How does one determine what borders should or should not be crossed?

Some things do not become funny, even after the passing of time IMO.

    Audeze LCD-2

Yep. It seems as though they used an oil or wax finish. I would most likely deconstruct them to apply a sturdier finish. Probably a multi coat Tung oil based finish. That would also allow me to copy the wood housing with one from Ebony, Cocobolo or something a bit more unique.

More than I had hoped. I now will need to compare my dBel84 tuned, N_Maher cabled, smeggy created, Macassar Ebonied Thunderpants, before making my final decision. I imagine it's safe to assume there will be at least one pair at CJ?
  16. My neck hurts just looking at it. Although when I was young it wouldn't have bothered me at all.
  17. Naaman, I'm trying to procure you a set of Curly Koa TPs, but smeggy is being awfully evasive. Seriously though Gary, those are going to be fantastic!
  18. That didn't sit idle for long! That will be a gorgeous pair of TPs. Are those Naaman's?
  19. 300B FTW! You can use it with the K1K too.
  20. Yearner, except my top leg is always fully bent at the knee, kind of like an outrigger.
