  1. I get all my concerts from dimeadozen.org.  It's all audience taped, but some of it is really good.  Not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

And I'll totally second your love for The Gathering; however, I have not seen them live, so.... you suck ;)

  2. It was not obvious to me, Wayne, but now looking through the "SH forum members have a boner for anything Beatles related" lens, it makes a bit more sense.  They'd rather look at Yoko doing... that... than Katy Perry.  That's dedication!

Sure Katy is prepackaged and made up to the max, but still, even the illusion of her is better ;)

  3. Owners of Nikon D800s (that'd be me now), be careful with the bottom plate area regarding stress (large lenses on tripods) and drops:

I baby my stuff and almost never use tripods (and only plan to own small primes), so I should be fine, but look at that thin strip of magnesium.  It should be twice as thick.  The fact that the D810 has been beefed up in that area is telling.

  4. I installed French bistro style lights on our back deck when we moved in thinking we would have adults over at night for fondue or some shit every now and then.  Then I remembered we had 5 small kids.  We are tired and nobody comes over for that  :sadcat:

On the plus side, I am loving my new(ish) D800.  Much better low light shots, and I learned how to back button focus in conjunction with the AF-C setting (while disabling the half press shutter focus).  Why in the hell did I not learn to do do this before?  What a difference it makes with kids.

Oh, and I am salivating over that new 20mm 1.8 lens.  That's hot shit, right there.

  5. From Riverside's Facebook Page:

"Love, Fear and the Time Machine" - this is the title of the sixth Riverside album. The band have just finished composing the new material.

"Our sixth album, six words in the title, sixty minutes of new music, that's about how long the new release will be. And we won't be playing hard rock any more", Mariusz Duda laughs. "There will be many more melodies dressed in completely different shades. We're changing and evolving as a band, we're growing up but most of all we want to keep recording different albums which are simply great to listen to. And the new one will be like a deep breath of fresh air, very different to what we'd done before."

"Love, fear and the times that have shaped us have the biggest influence on our life choices. The lyrics will be about everything that pushes us to make the most important decisions in our life."

The band are going to start recording the new material in March and it will be possible to follow the progress of their work on a special Instagram profile (www.instagram.com/riversideband.pl) The album will be released in August/September 2015 and some of the new songs will be played at this year's summer festivals. More information will follow soon…

I do not care what they do; it will be awesome.
