Needs more toe-in. And Brio trains.

Get them away from that back wall ASAP!!!
Will do - this was just to do a test listen, post restoration (done by the excellent Sheldon Stokes).
Very nice. IIRC you were a Lenco guy as well?
Thanks. I'm actually a Thorens guy, but only because circumstances provided me with a TD-124 at an unbelievable price. I imagine I would be equally happy with a Lenco.

The Quads have arrived. Pardon the crappy iPod photo.

I'm a big fan of the Virtuoso. I bought my Dad one about 2 years ago and he loves. I bought one for myself back in June and it has been excellent for my daily Aeropress cup.

I've decided to read the Foundation series in Asimov's reccommended order. Not too many of copies of this book floating around locally.

Was on the 4th floor of an office building in Rockville, MD. Most definitely felt it.

No personal experience, but I believe I've seen a couple of mentions of this company over at Audiokarma.

Perhaps this has already been linked elsewhere, but I think it deserves a re-posting.

Down payment on a plinth for the TD-124.

There will be analog goodness -- sooner or later.

Got a phone call from the administrator at the Lititz Watch Technicum. Looks like I'll be 1 of 14 students starting in September.
Honestly, I don't think I've ever felt more relieved.

Had an all-day group interview at the Lititz Watch Technicum. Hopefully I'll hear something by the end of the month.

Victory indeed.

Met up with David Berning today to look over my recently acquired EA-230 (thank you Craigslist). Apparently, it's #8 of 10 pre-production units built in 1980. Not much of a looker, but David gave it a clean bill of health and was pretty enthusiastic about the Westinghouse 6JN6's. Pardon the grainy iPod picture.

...while I wait for Slatey to be done.
Slatey?

A very early version of the Berning EA-230.

4 feet of 1/16 inch heat shrink. Exciting stuff.

Fixed the on/off problem. Turns out the cap inline with the switch was dead, despite looking fine physically. Removed it, soldered in a new cap and all is fine. Waiting on some shrink tubing to cover up the leads. Now onto designing the plinth...

Quad ESL-57: one working, one not. I love Craigslist.

It's been a while since I posted, so here goes. Enjoying the Laco a lot, though now I'm lusting after a Stowa Marine Original.
