Unsure where the viking is, he missed out on some good hijinks...

At Jay Street, waiting on the F train
-
On my train and running on schedule. Unsure how long it will take to get to Brooklyn but I will definitely appreciate lunch.
Edit: about 35 minutes according to my phone, 1230 or a little after should work for me.

My train is supposed to arrive just before noon tomorrow to Penn Station. I can't check into the hotel until 4 so I will definitely need lunch and likely refreshments. I can head towards Court Street Grocers as soon as I get in.
Beyond that, I have no concrete plans at all this weekend, just looking to enjoy the time.

I am scheduled to get in on Friday around noon so once I check in, it'll be a game to find the rest of the crew. Definitely down for dinner Saturday but I have nothing else to add as this will be my first time actually spending time in NYC.
Edit: Have I mentioned I am excited to see some of you for the first time in like 8 years? I am very excited.

I'm in the Marriott the actual CanJam is at. Doing Friday the 24th through Monday the 27th. Haven't figured out travel yet but probably coming by train.

I'm in without even realizing you guys had a thread already going. A coworker is going and convinced me to go too. I've got the hotel booked already for Fri-Mon
Now that I know you all will be there, I may extend my stay and now I am excited.

It’s an awfully warm summer here in southern Sweden and it’s too hot to sleep… did this last night…

An attempt to make a smd version of CFA3. Same board size as the smd version of Dynahi I built some months ago.
Lots of more work… doubt I’m capable to get this to work though.
I am into this. I have been thinking about a CFA3 and an SMD version appeals to me a lot. Hope you can get it working!

Thick and large wood indeed, hot damn

Bit late to the game but this little cheap guy has saved me a few blades and choice words. I've found shards of old rusted out nails with this so I think a cock ring would be easy to find.

I finally got around to servicing my Sony PS-X7. The speed control was acting up by holding a speed but then jerking the table every couple of second.
Found the service manual online, did a couple of the steps to adjust the speed controller and cleared the problem completely. Also learned a skill I never thought I would have to learn, how to wrap wires.

Depending on the aesthetic you are going for, you could also paint just the tip.

2x on the welds. Looks like TIG and I gotta say, I'm jealous of the skills.

That joinery is hawt Naaman

Got the first stage of my next project working, an amp that started out as a Menace clone and has changed a bit over time. 6SN7 input stage, CCS with a 21st Century Maida circuit as the B+ supply.

This would also be an option. https://daisous.com/collections/n03_cutting-utensils/products/4994163294818

220V is also good for welding, surprisingly few have a 120V option. Which I why I ended up with an AHP.
And Naaman, that is damn sexy. Did you do the modeling off of your badge yourself?
I picked up an SMD practice kit since I have a few things I want to do that would require it. Tried hand-soldering for the fun of it. The results work, but are not worth the picture.

That tool holder is hawt AF. How did you get the wrench sizes?

I cannot wait to see what you get up to with that beast. Very envious.

Real clean. I agree that's an interesting front panel mount, and also an interesting clip thing going on for the heatsink.

I have not, though I probably will now. Feed and speeds are still a bit arcane to me. Easy enough for wood now. But I know the Shapeoko can do softer metals and I intend to do that soon. Even picked up a surplus fridge compressor to kit out as an air assist/mist cooler

I goofed around enough in Gimp and Inkscape designing patches in the past to at least be mediocre at making vectors. And like both of you, just cautiously dipping my toes into 3D so far. The motivation problem I have is that if I do not have a project that requires it, I'm not going to really put effort into learning.
