Actually I do remember that, and I'm pretty sure that my Head-Fi feedback would confirm

Welcome Back!
Todd, I was wondering when you'd drop by, how's it going?
PS - Nate, just got an email from Jack. My WA2 shipped exactly a week after I placed my order
-
Hey man, I remember ya - you were that Texas guy, right? Geez what made you move to Pittsburgh?
I actually grew up in Pittsburgh but moved to Houston for a job offer when I graduated college. I was there for two years then decided to move back to the 'Burgh

Nate, I still regret selling that Millet
Unfortunately, I've already sent Jack payment and he's probably putting the finishing touches on my WA2 this weekend. I wish I would have read about the TTVJ Peak beforehand though. It would been A LOT cheaper to tube roll
swt, that's exactly why I came back. I'm also looking forward to jumping on the balanced and 'stat trains.

Hey Thaddy, good to see you back!
I thought after that bad fiasco where several people got burned you might be gone for good. Great to see you getting back into it.
You know, to this day that still chaps my ass. $500+ fucking dollars to that dickhead Ken Law. Now that I think about it, that was actually part of the reason I sold a lot of my stuff. I was just tired of dealing with the buying/selling and could never enjoy what I had. Believe it or not I went back and forth with some detectives in Hong Kong for 2 months trying to get our refunds. I hope he died from lead paint poisoning.
Anyways, I'm over it enough to start emptying my wallet again, but this time on some nicer gear
-
Not really sure! I sold a bunch of gear when I was a poor college student and just recently got the itch. I sort of regret the WA2 purchase already though, should have grabbed the WA22 and gone balanced. Oh well...
-
Remember me? Well, I'm back. I recently picked up a PS Audio DL III, some HD650's, and ordered a WA2 from Mr. Woo.
I forgot that other place is filled with awkward teenagers and ESL students, at which point I remembered Head-Case and had that n_maher dude reset my password (thanks Nate!).
So, this is where you all say "welcome back, Thaddy."

I think I'm the newest member to join the club...or, Head-Fi is just down again.

What the hell does rant mean?
-
Part of me thinks it's a bit funny, but the other part thinks you're just doing this for the shock factor.
Gay and no penis? My 12 year old cousin would say something like that. I think you can do better!

Who gives a shit who it is. Let's just make fun of him because his cars are slow.

I find that parts of the album remind me of Lateralus (Wings 1 and 2, Intension a bit), while other parts remind me of Undertow and ?nima. It's certainly a different flavor, and I don't think it's better or worse than Lateralus, just a side-step.
-
Tool - Lateralus
Tool - 10,000 Days
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon/Animals (it's a tie)
Rush - R30 (ok, so it's a concert, but still an album)
Porcupine Tree - Warszawa
Plus there's always...
Nirvana - Unplugged in New York
Dave Matthews Band - Crash
The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Metallica - The Black Album
Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire
Green Day - Dookie
Pearl Jam - Ten
MisterX, have I mentioned you've got a great taste in music?

Earl I was quite fond of the MS2's when I had a pair on loan a while back. I'm not sure how different they are when compared to the MS2i's, but I still plan on revisiting the MS2's in the near future.

8 more hours until Maynard and the gang are rockin' out on stage

Ehh, Episode 3 wasn't as good as the others. I hope they don't go down the shitter...
-
What good is a football player that's on academic probation though? I'm not sure what it's like at big D1 schools, but my Universities athletic department enforced a pretty strict rule that if you didn't get C's or above, you didn't participate in your sport.

Kids like that need to be kept the hell out of colleges and universities. If he's so good, let him go to the NFL.

As a father of 4, there's absolutely no way that that poop was a human infant's first.
That quite the turd for an infant...

Well I think the only way to prove Ray is really screwing his customers is to provide before and after photos of the power supply. Otherwise, it's just another rumor.
-
I've heard about the Stello on a few occasions, and how it's a knockoff. What amp is everyone referring to? Also, does the same go for the DAC? Both aren't terribly expensive, and look quite nice together.
edit: Also that new balanced Rudistor looks overpriced, although it does do an unblanced -> balanced conversion, which is pretty cool. However, it doesn't really have any other nice features.
-
Then why doesn't this Raptor owner make this public?
Sure, his antics piss me off, but I've never owned one of his products, and I probably never will. However, if I paid $200 for an "upgraded" power supply only to find that Ray decided to recycle my capacitors, case, and power cord...well, then I'd have a major problem with that. If this was another manufacturer, it would be aired to the public quite fast, but for some reason Ray always seems to get away with crap like this.
-
Kevin where do you get that information? If that's true and it gets out (well, to Head-Fi), that's quite a problem Ray has on his hands. Although that won't be the only thing he has to worry about.
What's the deal with these USB -> Coax converters? Am I retarded?

I understand the importance of wanting to bypass all of the Windows filters and crap to achieve bit-perfect output to feed a DAC, but what's with these converters out there with their own dedicated power supplies? Is that really necessary?
I'm not technical by ANY means, but what I do understand is that they are basically taking a digital signal (via USB) and...converting it...to...a digital signal (via Coax). How should that process have any affect on the sound? And if it does, doesn't that mean you just bought a crappy product with a nice external power supply?
Please, enlighten me, my head hurts.
