Hey John,
I have the HE-6 but not yet 🙂 the CFA (it is on my build list however).
I am ising the HE-6 with RSA The Dark Star atm and it is just magnificent. Compared it to the HD-800 as well but clearly prefer the HE-6 and traded the HD-800.
I am using modified HE-6 with balanced beta22. Sounds also great.

Good approach 👍 I also trying to buy a litte more, but not too much. From my practise all projects completely unique. So parts are not shareable. I built several general amplifiers, balanced beta22, some DACs and so on. As for repairing: mine projects are very cool and I am trying to build them very reliable, so don't need to repair them. If realy something will broke, I will better build new more modern and more performance gardget. This is from my practise of 8 years in DIY. So in conclusion: if extra parts doesn't costs too much - then buy them, otherwise exact count or +1.
But anyway: it is usefull to buy 10m90s and fill excel with extra inventory - good idea.

Yes, you are right. But without IXCP10M90S all work is useless. May be it make sence to buy maximim parts now and then the rest of another. Because when IXCP10M90S will be available, could be absent another items. The question that it could be loose some money on extra shippings.

Tried to estimate possibility to collect BOMs for T2 on mouser. First struggle was with MOQ=100 of resitors 273 Xicon MF-RC. Second step is long lead time. Some examples:

512-KSA1156YS
747-IXCP10M90S
512-FQPF8N80C
512-2N3904BU

512-BC547BTA
512-KSC5026MOS
512-FQPF8N80C

That's cool! I'd like to see those as I want to use for two other projects where space is at a premium
PM me if needed gerbers or boards itself.

yeah, that's what I ended up going with. Salas's stuff is great!
+1 agree with you. I like his boards. I redesigned L-Adapter and UltraBib 1.3, made them more compact. Both has great specs.

So I was thinking of building a linear psu for a new PC.
I came across this kit on ebay
Anyone ever use something like this kit? The Teradak products are really cool but pricey
I used this one: https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/power-supplies/336685-adapter.html

Finished up a Soekris dam1021 build. This is the new rev7 board with a lot of improvements trickling down from the flagship dac2541. HiFi2000 case, FPE panels, JLSounds I2SoverUSB v.III input, LT3045-based power supplies, direct R-2R output intended for my headphone amp, and buffered output for my powered desk speakers.
My aesthetic stylings and DIY skills haven't advanced even the tiniest bit since 2010, but I like the brutal elegance and minimalist functionality. Most importantly, it sounds really nice.
As I heard Soekris good DAC but not perfect.

I am wandering when people here assambled T2 and use it with Alps RK50 potentiometer from past age. Some years ago I inverstigated question about volume controls. Looked even on Bridged-T attenuator:
https://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/attenuators/bridged-t-attenuator.html
And as a conclusion: best attenuators are transformer TVCs. Until some music level resistors (even z-foil) is the best. But for Ultra HiEnd is TVC.
In attachments is mine. FR @1kHz=0db almost flat up to 1MGHz. It is better then Stevens and Billington TX-102 TVC, Music First Audio - Passive Magnetic Preamplifier and so on. Even this not the toppest one, but it is very very pleasent for hears.

It is possible to buy C2M1000170D on aliexpress, but for testing fake parts could be usefull "p-n junction breakdown voltage meter ". I wanted to build one of Russian variant:

I am using the C3M0350120D as a replacement part for the C2M1000170D in the GRHV in my CFA Electrostatic without any issues. But this part seems to be unavailable now as well. Remarkable how one needs to wait a year for parts now.
May be in power it is ok, but I'am looking for Carbon. As kevin gilmore said - only original parts:

Sadly, that C2M0045170D isn't available as well...
as I understand C2M1000170D differs from all of them:
Quote- High Speed Switching with Low Capacitances
- Ultra-low Drain-gate capacitance
Yes, C2M1000170D is not so powerfull but those features may be more important.

do no replace these parts. buy from someone that has them or wait.
Even C2M1000170D ? This item:
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/microchip-technology/MSC750SMA170B/12367785
does not suitable? Wait on mouser too long, up to 5/27/2022

Left chanel say hello to grave: half sands went to trash 😅 . Now looking for DN2540N5-G and C2M1000170D, but they are out of stock. Could someone suggest by which analogs it could be replaced?

Hello all!
After succesfull build GG moved to Carbon (board version 0.6). Soldered all components. Tested Right channel - all good.
But with Left chanel some problem: with [balance] test all ok, [Current Adjust] seems also good. But problem with [offset]. It has voltage 405V (with +P left channel, same as -P). When trimmed [offset] it has diviasion +-10V. But it is not enougth for set 0V. All resistors with their nominals, seems no short circute, LEDs glows.
Where could be problem?

Hello again!
I'm wanted to set transformers output in my DAC.
Could someone say what value of "Input sensitivity (Vrms)" for this amplifier and for the Carbon?

Nice work! Very small amp case, which is pretty neat. What holds the amp boards in place? They seem to be just attached by the silicon right now.
Thanks! Right now boards holds by transistors only.

The transformers – are they DIY made?
factory plus cosmetic DIY.

Hello all!
How many mA in transformer prefer to use for GG? Voltage 360 (=> 450V output) and 350 mA is it will be enough? On another forum recommended 500VA transformer for tubes amps.

sorenb, good news, so I just add resistors for required voltage.
Blueman2, wait some time and C2M1000170D will be sell soon. I also wait a couple week when assemble my BOM.

Hello all!
Successfully run one board of GRHV (boards 1.7 version). Wanted to turn it on 450V. Could I use three resistors instead of two R8, R9 ? Is not it criminal?
For example 390K + 390K + 100K = 880 = 2x 442 .

I am in process of collecting parts for T2. All available except those one:
KSC5026MOS
IXCP10M90S
And time of delivery always move right. For example for IXCP10M90S it was around 04/2022 but now in both shops mouser, digikey phrases like this:
It took some time 😪
