The Tuna is certainly a nice watch.

The Grand Seikos are exceptionally fine watches, with excellent build and design (if you are a fan of the design school), and often cutting edge techniques.  Seiko is the only watch company that is as "in-house" as Rolex, and the Grand Seiko line might even be more so, as I don't think Rolex makes its own lubricants.

That is a very impressive fact. I believe the Japanese (and other ex-Swiss European brands) are pushing the boundaries of fine watchmaking. The simplicity of design is pretty attractive, very understated.

  2. Over here in Malaysia in one of the watch forums i see a lot of Seikos changing hands. Granted the aesthetics are an acquired taste but the price is very attractive. In any case, further depreciation of value should not be as much as the other luxury brands.

Out of curiosity, what is the attraction factor of a Grand Seiko?

The BH has one additional stage than the GG. Also my BH uses FET (2SK216/2SJ79) not the BJT.

I have not finished my Grounded Grid build yet but will be interesting to see how they compares.

Would you know how your BH compares to HeadAmp's BHSE in terms of sound sig?

There are a lot of crap dacs out there but something like the Denafrips and Soekris are excellent.  Made me retire the MSB...

    What about Holo Spring?

On a similar note, i found my used Parasound Z-Dac V1 to be pretty good sounding for the cheapo money i got it for.

Here's something that has been cooking for a while... what happens when you take some heavily tweaked SR-X Mk3 normal bias drivers, an old SR-303 cable, some earpads from Belarus and a cheap Beyer clone from China?  Something that is actually pretty decent...  :)

Now the drivers are actually Pro bias if that wasn't clear but this one fun sounding set of headphones.  Off the Carbon CC it has that lovely tuneful bass the SR-X Mk3 Pro has but this one has far more body to it.  The voices are sublime and have that SR-X quality to them without the over damped nature of the originals.  The highs a tad too lively but that will be tweaked in version 2.0.  Over all...I'm a happy bunny for spending next to nothing one these...  :)

It's fun to play with this stuff and see what comes of it.

Will you be selling either this or the tweaked version on your site once you're done with it? :)
